Power windows and doors not working from driver's side buttons

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee The power windows and doors do not work from the buttons from the driver's side door. Using the key locks and unlocks but not the power components. What can the problem be and how do I fix it? Is there a relay switch for this in these Jeeps? Thanks Lisa Sudbury, Ontario

if you open the drivers door and look for the rubber boot near the hinge, pull the boot back and you will find a heavy blown wire with (i think with a red trace) will be broken. join the wire together and solder so it cant pull apart..

1999 Jeep Cherokee (not Grand) driver door power control

there is a rubber boot between door and body, peel it back from each end and will expose wiring..try pulling on each wire and you will more than likely find 1 or more broken wires..happens because driver's door is used the most..have seen this on these vehicles..wiring can be repaired

Sounds like the driver door module. First try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then try it. The door module controls all of those things you are describing.

Check the wiring between the drivers door and the A pillar(the body of the car). Sometimes the harness breaks from opening and closing the door.
