If you replace the ac,you need to find out whats bad first. To see if it needs a charge only locate the pressure switch on the air dryer which is a silver canister with a plug on the side of it with 2 wires, when you unplug it and look at the plug you will see the connectors, use a small piece of wire to jump them together, turn on the engine with the ac on and if the compressor kicks on then its out of freon, then the o-rings in the lines need replacing.Note that its probably a r-12 system which if there is freon in it,it will have to be evacuated or sucked out first, and you will have to change the air dryer, which new is about $90.00 at the autoparts store.Even if the compressor is bad and you have to replace it you will still need to replace the air dryer because you will have to charge it with 134a and it does not mix with r-12.Also there is a filter behind that switch on the air dryer called the orrifice that can be plugged and the ac wont get cold enough no matter how much freon you put in it.Its a job to fix them and it takes time, but its worth it and remember to replace all o rings when you re-charge it so you dont have a leak and waste it,which there is a dye to put in the system that comes out the leaky seal or line.

Chevy beretta

I guess I'll start by saying a 22 yr old car could be reaching the end of its life, so I would keep the RPM under 3000 to help keep it on the road a little longer.
You did not say the plug wires have been replaced, and they could also cause the miss. Also, one of the coils or plugs could be faulty even if they have been replaced.
The check engine light is not on, right ?

My 1992 Chevy Beretta had several holes in the radiator so my Dad took it in to be repaired and put it back in. But now, the fan won't stay on, especially if I travel more than 5 miles. He has done...

Did the engine overheat before the radiator was replaced? If so, there is a very high likelyhood that you have a blown head gasket and/or a warped or cracked cylinder head. Those aluminum heads are VERY UNFORGIVING when it comes to being overheated!

Digital dash no longer works. cannot tell speed, mileage, fuel level etc. 1989 beretta.

You need a new dash head unit. Try a breakers yard for a second hand replacement.

1996 Beretta

There are multiple items that could cause this. First off Chevy came out with ECO cool orange coolant on their cars with out first finding out that it was corrosive to certain plastics and rubber. So if you have this coolant in the 96 beretta it could have ate through one of your hoses.

Also by now your car is over ten years old and depending on the environment in which you drive the car could have created a crack in your radiator. The previous 96 beretta that I owned cracked all down one side. There is never a good fix for this except for replacing the radiator.

These cost about 100 at your local parts store and take the weekend to replace. If you still have the ecocool coolant though I would suggest that when you replace your radiator that you also switch to the standard green coolant. This will not harm your car and you will have less of a chance for your coolant to corrode something.
