Go look at the passengers side. take note of the door seam and fender seam width. its about the width of a piece of cardboad. additionally look at the door hinges on the passenger side. it may or may not have washer shims. if they do/dont then just match up with passenger side. it takes 2 people to hang the door. screw in door hinges "finger tight" just to take off the weight of someone holding the door. play with the hinges until you can open/close door without binding or crimping fender at the seam. do not over tighten hinge bolts until the door opens/closes unobstructed. bottomline 2 people needed. slow and tedious job. you may have to add or take shims(washers) out for good fit. note that you may have to add shims to the inner door hinges or to the fender hinges where they meet. hope this is clear instructions.

SOURCE: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix Thermostat

as you face the engine the thermostat bell is on the right (drivers side) Follow the radiatoe hose. Remove the two bolts and raise the bell still attatched to the hose. the thermostat is there with the rubber seal. You can gently pry the thermostat out with a screwdriver or something similar. Put in new thermostat be sure it is the same as the old one, and then replace or change the seal (be sure it is the smae size and thickness as the old one as I got the wrong size from Napa) Then replace the bell, and tighten, but not over tighten. I hope this helps!

SOURCE: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix Gt not shifting into OD

Basic Troubleshooting:

Although the Indicator says the vehicle is in "D" or "OD", is it really? If the linkage is mechanical, you may actually be in "3". Make sure the car is in neutral and pull the lever into the first forward position without looking at the indicator.

Does your vehicle have a switch to turn the OD off and you didn't know it? You may have inadvertently done this. In this case, though, usually there is a little dummy light on the dash that says "O/D off" or something like that.

Check the transmission fluid level on your vehicle and make sure it is to factory specification.

SOURCE: LOOKING FOR A FUSE BOX DIAGRAM FOR 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT

It's under the hood, on the driver's side, under a square, black box with a lightning symbol on it. Loosen the flower-shaped screw that holds the lid of the box down, remove the lid, flip it upside down and when you look at the inside of the lid, you'll see a map of all your car's fuses. There's also a fuse diagram on the very end of the dash, but it's accessible only when you open the driver's side door. When you're driving, that end of the dash is blocked by the closed door.

How do i take door panel off the driver side of a 2002 ponic grand prix gpt

Remove window switch by pulling up on the rear of it, and unhook electrical connectors. Next remove 2 plugs below pull handle and the 2 screws behind them.
Then using a trim panel tool or a flat blade screw driver disengage the clips around the outside of the door panel.
Start at the top edge and work your way down and around.

Rear pontiac grand am door stuck

I have a 2002 pontiac grand am with both power windows and door locks. Everything else works except the lock assembly on the rear driver side rear door latch. I have removed the inside panel , aboth rods are connected. all power is disconnected to that door. I moved both of the rods correctly and the door will slightly open but that is all. How can I get it to release so I can repair or replace the latch and lock if nescessary ? I had the same problem only reversed with the frond door it would not close but after some trying I fixed that problem.

How to replace the whole drivers side power mirrior 2002 pontiac grand prix

From the inside of the door just the other side of the mirrow there is a triangle shaped plastic peace take that off then you can get to the nuts or bolts that hold the mirrow on. The bummer is you have to take the door panel off to get to the plug for the wires. If you need instructions on how to get the door panel off let me know but I need to know uf you have power or manual windows.

2002 pontiac montana passanger pwr window

I beleive you need to change the Power Window Switches Module in the drivers side door panel, as these connections are interlinked within this module and it is usually the first part that fails. Especially that you already changed the switches & motor in the passenger door and it still does not work. Once you remove the dual switch module in the driver's side door, you will understand what I mean. Plus it is really easy to access. Good luck! I have the same model, Claude

Replace drivers side window switch

Is your question, HOW to replace? you pry it off from the back, closer to the door handle, if you do the opposite (closer to the window) you will break it and then it will not lock into place and it will be hanging. But remove it from the side closer to the door handle and remove the pins that hold the switch to the frame and replace.

How much will it cost to fix my drivers window? i recently bought a 200 pontiac grand am gt but the window on drivers side doesnt work - there is something in side of it holding it in place. do you know...

remove door panel inside car and check motor with test light.
check window regulator/track window rides on, for proper operation, check cable is not broke.
replace motor if bad buy a new one, replace regulator from junk yard, new is pricey. 250.00 dealer cost.
350-400 for the whole job :(

Driver side mirror 2004 Pontiac Grand Am

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
