Question about Hyundai Motor 1992 Scoupe

Open Question

Hyundai scoupe 93 model, no spark?

I just rebuilt my daughters 93 Hyundai scoupe, i did nothing to the electrics except unplugged them an back in again. I checked the coil an 12v was present but when cranking over it went backwards in voltage to 9v. I wasn't sure about this so i grabbed another coil and it did the same thing. Is this normal? if it is i'm not getting a spark as i pulled a plug out and put near motor and got absolutley nothing. I have triple checked all electrical connections and im getting very frustrated. Is it a sensor? Is it a computer problem? Please please someone help

SOURCE: No Spark

Sorry to tell you this if you dont already know its the ecu, take it out take off the cover and youll see the main capacitor in the center (its a black capacitor with grey markings, there are a couple of others similar located around the board but this one pretty much in the center) of the board has black suit around it and on the board, if your carefull a $3 capacitor (your local **** smith electronics will have one) and solder it in making sure you get the polarities right. unfortunately with these model cars it is a major problem, but if you are not confident with the work email me at and i can referr you to an ecu recon joint for around 85 they will fix your ecu, NOW the problem, there will be a reason why the ecu blew, it will be simple like cracked lead or wire earthing somewhere on chasis, you see the smallest earth spike, even from say turning the car over too much will blow that capacitor. sorry for the bad news and i hope i have been of some assistance.

SOURCE: Hi got problem w my

There won't be any spark for the plugs with this problem. The camshaft position sensor is what tells the PCM to send spark. There is a circuit malfunction with this sensor. As the name implies, it will be near the camshaft on bank 1. Mounted to the head. This has 3 wires and is held in place by two bolts. You will probably need to pull some things out of the way, air snorkel, engine cover (if you have one).

I would check the CPS too, if the the sensor is bad, it has no idea where or what position the crank is in so it's not going to start.

ECU of my Hyundai Scoupe 1994 2 doors cannot trigger the sequence of the fuel injectors to supply gas or petrol into the combustion chambers but spark is available to the spark plugs! can you help me solve...

The ECU requires timing pulses from the crankshaft and camshaft sensors in order to generate the injector pulses. All other sensors just modify the pulse width of the injectors to adjust for power and economy. If the ignition is entirely controlled from a distributor, the two above sensors would not affect the spark. Hope this helps!
