Yellow check engine light on after having oil change and splash guard tied back on

The check engine light is on in my 2008 charger. I just had the oil changed 3 weeks ago and a couple days ago noticed the "splash guard??" under the front end of the car was hanging loose. I took it to a repair shop and they tied it back on but there was actual chunks missing from it, so I am having them order a new one to put back on. Now driving to work the yellow check engine light came on.

Thanks polarcycle I took it to the dealership for the oil change as it is leased I find this is a better way to prove that I have maintained good maintence on the vehicle. Could I have caused damage to the engine when the splash guard was ripped?

Could be a number of things. Should still be under 3/36000 warranty. Take it to the dealership. If the place you got your oil change from used the wrong weight oil, this could cause the light to come on. There are thousands of possibilities, which is why you need a computer to check them now.

No. Those splash gaurds are a waste. They are made of plastic, and hang fairly low. To not ruin the next one, be aware that the front of the car doesn't/shouldn't get that close to the parking barrier.

My 2008 Pacifica was just in for service for an engine oil leak, I just got it back yesterday and the yellow "malfunction" light came back on. What could this mean?

The engine malfunction or check engine light could mean a whole number of different things, you need an obd diagnostic tool to read the trouble codes...

was the light on before you took the vehicle in for repairs, or did it come on after repairs, if someone has worked on the engine, all I can suggest is check that they haven't left any electrical connections off any components, that will cause the light to appear...

Procedures to change engine oil on 1997 Audi A4

the long answer is...put engine flush in oil, run for about 1 hour, switch off/remove key, then remove splash guard from under the engine (best done when car on ramps)then remove oil filler cap and drain plug on sump(oil pan).whilst draining into an empty can with the side cut out(drip tray) locate oil filter and punch a hole in the side of it with a screwdriver, and unscrew it.
Wipe oil onto the rubber seal of the new filter and screw onto carrier.hand tight only.
then replace sump plug washer(copper/fibre)and replace using a 6"long ring spanner and do up tight.
(max pressure of palm of hand)
put in about the same amount of oil that came out, replace oil filler cap and start engine.
check for any leaks, replace splash guard and lower car to level surface, turn off engine, leave for 60 secs, then dip for oil level and top up to midway on dipstick,
job done....
use 10/40 semi synthetic oil.

How do i change the turn signal bulbs on the front corner lamps... i can reach the bulb sockets but dont have the room to turn them and on the driver side with the way the battery housing sits i cant even...

Both the front turn signals are quite a mess to get to on this particular car the fastest and most easy way however to do it is to chalk the rear tires, jack the car up, put it on jack stands, then what you have to do is take off the splash guard under the car that protects the engine from water it's about 7 or 8 bolts be careful no to loose them for the splash guard will have to go back on after your done. Once off in the far corner you should have enough room to put your hand up, you might have to feel for it their is a large plastic screw on bolt that holds then both in careful not to pull out the small one feel for the large one on both sides once you get it turn counter clock wise and tug it out, replace bulb with new put light back into fixture, screw back in until it locks into place and your done, place splash guard back on, the whole project took me about 30 minutes with all the tools handy. Only tools you will need are jack stands, chalks, 10MM socket and socket wrench " for the splash guard" flash light, and a pair of rubber gloves if you dont want to get your hands all dirty.

Engine oil light flashes on for fractions of a second then remains off for several minutes before repeating. started same time noise from engine began, noise follows rpm of motor. clicking like a valve...

the oil level may be good and quality may be good, but the oil pump may be going out considering the valve/engine noises. Have it checked quickly, before this engine locks up.

The check oil light in my 2008 dodge charger stays on

OK, now you added 2 quarts of oil just because someone told you to. Did you check the oil level yourself? That is very suspicious unless your engine is smoking and burning oil. Park the car on a level surface, shut the engine off, and after 30 minutes remove the dip stick and check the oil level. You may find it is overfull. If it is that is just as bad as unde-full. In any case, Change the oil & filter and use a quality filter such as Purolator or Wix and the correct weight oil which will probably be 5w20. Check your owner's manual to be sure. If the oil light is still on, have a oil pressure test run. You may have nothing more than a bad oil pressure sending unit.
