Fuel filter should be in engine compartment near the top of the engine as it should be accessed and changed with every service.

Where is the fuel filter located on my 2000 camry

  1. 1 Disconnect the fuel-relay fuse, which is a 15-amp fuse located behind the glove compartment inside the front dashboard.
  2. 2 Turn your engine on until it stops on its own due to lack of fuel. The disconnected relay fuse ensures that the fuel system will stall out, thereby allowing the pressure in the fuel lines to dissipate.
  3. 3 Raise the back end of your Camry using a car jack. Jack stands can be placed on each side of the car as an extra safety measure.
  4. 4 Place the drip pan beneath the fuel system under your car. A 2002 Toyota Camry's fuel system is located under the driver's side of the car and can be found by following the fuel lines to their central location.
  5. 5 Unharness the fuel filter from the system bracket by squeezing the small tabs that connect it to the fuel lines. If the tabs are difficult to pinch, use the needle-nose pliers for a firmer grasp.
  6. 6 Lower the fuel filter to the ground gently, allowing any excess fuel drainage to fall into the drip pan.
  7. 7 Install the new fuel filter by placing it onto the bracket where the old fuel filter was just resting. When the filter is properly inserted, you will hear the snapping sound of the tabs locking into place.
  8. 8 Remove the drip pan, pliers and old filter from beneath your Camry. Your shop rags can be used to clean up any fuel that may have spilled outside of the drip pan.
  9. 9 Bring your car back down to ground level after removing the jack stands. Exercise caution regarding any animals or children that could be in the vicinity of the car during this step.
  10. 10 Plug the fuel-relay fuse back into the outlet in the glove compartment.
  11. 11 Crank your engine several times until it starts. The motor is unlikely to start on your first couple tries, because the fuel is working its way through the system again. Allow a few seconds between each attempt, and your fuel change is successful once the car is running on the fourth or fifth try.
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

How to replace the oil filter on 1999 sunfire , the oil filter is surrouded by many things and we can not get to it. Is there a easier way?

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;}
  1. Place one wheel chock in front of each of the Sunfire's front tires. Lift the rear of the Sunfire with a floor jack. Then support the weight of the vehicle with one jack stand placed under each rear axle.
  2. Locate the fuel filter. The fuel filter is a metal cylindrical piece located underneath the Sunfire on the passenger's side of the fuel tank.
  3. Note that one end of the fuel filter has a nut, while the other end has a clip. Use a wrench to remove the portion of the fuel line which enters the side of the fuel filter which has the nut.
  4. Allow any fuel which is present in the line to drain into a bucket. Use a tool for quick connect fittings to release the clip on the opposite side of the fuel filter. The quick connect fitting tool is readily available at most auto parts stores, and can sometimes be rented instead of purchased. Once the fitting is released, pull the fuel line away from the filter.
  5. Press the end of the new fuel filter that has the clip onto the fuel line until the line clicks into place. Then use a wrench to tighten the end of the other fuel line to the fuel filter.
  6. Raise the back of the Sunfire with the floor jack. Remove the jack stands from underneath the axles. Then lower the Sunfire with the floor jack and remove the wheel chocks to complete the installation.

I cant locate the fuel filter

Not 100% sure on stratus, but common place for dodge is ahead of the passenger side rear wheel, under car attached to frame. If not in that area, jack up passenger rear side, and use safety stands, & follow lines from top of tank, you'll find it.

Fuel filter

Under the car, follow the fuel line, it is a cannister style filter, round about 6 inches long. You will need special tools to release the fuel lines from the filter ends.

Changing fuel filter on 2004 chrysler town and country

  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Raise the vehicle and support the fuel tank with a transmission jack.
    • Fuel line from the front of the tank
    • Ground strap
    • Inboard side of the fuel tank straps and front T strap fastener and lower the tank about 6 inches
    • Fuel lines from the fuel pump module
    • Fuel filter
  3. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the fuel filter bolts to 40 inch lbs. (4.5 Nm), the main tank straps to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm) and the T strap to 250 inch lbs. (28 Nm).
  4. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Fuel filter location and replacement

You need to first jack the car off the ground, the fuel filter is located in front of the fuel tank. A new fuel filter is inexpensive and easy to find. One end of the filter needs to be disconnected with a wrench, around 5/8". The other end is a very simple, somewhat fragile plastic clip that should be no problem to disconnect once you look at it for a minute or so. Make sure and keep lots of rags handy, because once you unhook the filter, it will leak all over the place. Once you have the old one out, installing the new one will be simple.
