Problem with windows and radio

I have a 2000 Camaro, the electric windows and radio do not work. I noticed the fuse for the windows kept getting very hot. Tried replacing. The windows and radio would work for a while and then stop again. Now neither the windows or radio will work at all.

I had the same trouble. It began as an intermittent problem, then began to be more frequent and longer in duration. Due to suggestions elsewhere on this site, I took out the BCM from under the dash behind the glove compartment, and one of the relay's feet had faulty soldering connecting it to the BCM (Body Control Module) board inside. I heated up the solder and added some more solder to the connexion, and now the problem is gone. I think they must have had a bad batch of BCMs run through the factory back about ten or so years ago, because this problem appears to be common. Be very careful you don't accidentally add too much solder because it might short out some other circuit on the circuit board and fry some other equipment. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you may have fualty wiring that would be a pain to trace the source. Have you tried using a slightly bigger fuse? Would suggest more than 5 amps.
If you have an ohmmeter and a bunch of time, you can test all the wires and see if you are getting a short or overload somehwere.

2000 camaro window will not roll up and when I

Its either a shorted power cable to the window motor(less likely) or a jammed/damaged window regulator (more likely). Does it shut off the radio when you try to roll the window down as well? Either way, you'll need to pull the door panel to check the regulator/cabling.

Stereo, electric windows, and convertable top will not operate. It seems that they are all connected to each other, what could cause this?

Take a look at the map of the fuse box. The Windows fuse is directly above the fuse for the radio. They're probably shorting. No big mystery.

I have an after market stereo in my 2000 camaro that recently started power down and power up on it's own. At the same time this occurs the electric windows will not function.

you have a fault in the power distribution box ,its under the bonnet near the battery ,something in here has a burnt connection ,dirty corroded fuse holder or just a wire breaking caused by vibration /movement

I have a 1997 chevy camaro its the 6 cyl coupe radio will turn on and off on its own and when my radio works my windows will and when my radio doesnt neither will the windows i have talked to some friends...

I fought this same issue for nearly two years before I actually discovered what it was. It was only recently that my interior courtesy lights also stopped working at the same time the windows and radio would stop. After tracing through the wiring schematics i found all three had a common "wire" for these three circuits. It was the actual fuse box, not a fuse, but the box that the fuses plug into. If you notice the location of these three items on the fuse box, they are all on the far right column using the same power distribution wire for all three circuits. I had to tear out the fuse box and cleanup the corroded traces on the board and resoldered "jumper wires to fix this. I couln't locate a new fuse box with circuity so I repaired it myself.
Hope this helps you.

My radio keeps turing off and on while i'm drivng, at the same time my windows stops working . what d they hve in common?

all the electrical appliances in ur car r collected to the fuse box and the battery head so ones a fuse is broke it affects the next fuse closest to it. get a rewirer to check it before further demand is done

Clock, power locks, power windows and radio not working

for the check engine light you will have to borrow a OBD2 code scanner from your local auto parts store and find out what the code is. although it may be related to: for your electrical problem there is a blown 10 or 15 amp fuse. just check your fuse box for one that is blown. there may be more than one. replace with same-amperage fuse and see if it happens again.

Radio cuts out windows dont work

I have the same problem with my 96 camaro. I checked the fuses box and the radio, windows and IP dimmer fuses don't have power. More likely is a short in the motor of one of the windows.
