Check for vacuum leaks, make sure your PVC valve is operationa. Also be sure to take your car to a place such as autozone where they can do a detailed diagnostic test (usually free of charge) wich will help you further locate the problem..

PCV Valve usualy runs about 3 - 7 dollars, and is usually located on your valve cover attacthed to a vacuum line,

O2, and Fuel sensors may sometimes have adverse effects on engine performance.

check for a faulty / blocked accelerator pump /circuit as this fits the lack of fuel squirt on acceleration description. Also check the timing of the ignition.

Hesitation on acceleration 96 suburban

Check your fuel filter for clogging and/or have fuel pump pressure checked..Am assuming it's fuel injection,if so have injectors checked/cleaned..if a carb system you may need a cleaning, carb rebuild or simply air/fuel adjustment.
Remote possibility of electrical issue,I've seen this happen as early signs of coil or coil pack going bad

Hesitates and dies

A long list of things.
Is the check engine light on when you are driving ?
Have you checked the fuel pressure after replacing the pump ?
Have you checked the throttle position sensor ?

My '01 impala 3.4 v-6 flat spots when COLD, at around 20mph. the idle is ruff with random misfires. acceleration is overall poor. when HOT, most symptoms go away leaving only some slight acceleration...

depending on mileage, but possible tune-up could fix it. if already done then check ignition coil pack and ignition wires also spark plugs, check vacuum hoses for leaks or porous, last injectors clogged - use some techron fuel injector cleaner (wal-mart has them). Also get the throttle body and iac valve cleaned by throttle cleaner . Also this other possibilities are to be checked and confirmed.:---- Engine running rough or misfiring can be cause by the following:

1.Defective spark plugs
2.Inadequate spark/coil, defective spark plug wire.
3. Lack of compression
4.False air leakage.
5. Faulty fuel injectors.
6. Insufficient fuel pressure.
7. Contaminated fuel.
8. EGR valve that is leaking.
9. Oxygen sensors.
10. Throttle position sensor.
11. Manifold absolute pressure sensor
12.Mass Airflow Sensor
13.Idle air control valve

--------- This should help.Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.

Intermittent poor acceleration, loss of power. Has new plugs, ignition module, crank sensor, fuel filter. Plug wires 1 year old. Have tried mass air flow sensor, coil packs. Fuel pressure was monitored and...

Regardless of age, battery discharging first needs to be addressed and fixed - bad battery or something in car (like a light) may be staying on when car is shut off.
Fuel pressure is too low - should be around 50psi and may be caused by an intermittent fuel pump or regulator problem.
The cause of the other problems is usually with the IAC or MAF sensors or the EGR valve - fouling at the EGR, IAC and/or throttle body is to be expected for a car this old.

could be a number of things, regulator or fuel filter or fuel pump and/or strainer or even throttle position sensor,or bad coil pack or packs...check for engine codes,if nothing then its not an electrical sensor, like throttle position sensor,or coil packs, then try fuel filter, check for vacumm leak at the regulator, check the fuel pressure,if lower than 60 lbs approx.then probably a fuel pump or clogged pump strainer

My 2000 2.4 Sunfire hesitates when accelerating,

hello there my friend, these cars have a lot of problems with the coil pack, its the complete cover above the cams/valve covers, these area is very hot and these coil pack is from a plstic material so it often cracks and spark starts to escape all over from the inside part so it fails to fire the cylinders and stalls or hesitates, these condition gets worse under load, most times you can hear the spark jumping to a close ground or visualy inspect the coil pack for cracks or burnt traces replace it if you see these symptoms, good luck
