Does it sound like it is in neutral when you have it in gear? If so, your linkeage from shifter to transmission needs to be adjusted. If you follow the cable, you should see an adjustment for it.
Turn to right to tighten it and left to loosen it.

If it tries to move but doesn't, it may be e-brake stuck. Most likely linkeage needs adjustment or vacuum line came of tranny.

Transmission is full of oil? Linkage connected??? (Should be able to
have somebody work shift lever, as you look on transmission) and see if
things moving down there ! Engine need not be running to do this!!

Did this come on suddenly, or has transmission been slipping for some
time, -- or kind of slow when cold, but working fine when hot? If
transmission oil filter is plugged up, it may work ok if you let engine
idle for 15 minutes or more (in neutral)- warm oil is "thinner
viscosity" than cold, - (hot even thinner)...... If filter pertty
plugged up the cold oil may not be able to squeeze enugh through to
opearte transmission! If this is the probelm, letting warm up for maybe
even half an hour will make it work (hopefully), - you can take
somewhere and get "pan dropped" and filter changed,--- new oil filled,
-- and be on your way (this is around $80 or so at most oil chance
places)! Of course if you have some "exotic car" that has very
expensive replacement parts the price will vary accordingly!

After engine has run a while, pull dipstick and check oil-- does it
smell "burned", or "nice normal smell" of automatic transmission fluid,
    - and is the oil "black",--- Instead of red or sometimes slighly
yellow, - and fairly clear (these are regular transmission fluid
colors)... And do you see lots of little metal particles , (black oil
and metal particles generally mean intermal damage), - and most likely
    transmission rebuild required!

I can shift into drive but it won't engage

sounds like a broken shift cable. (the connection between the shifter and the gearbox) common symptoms are the shifter move easier than normal.and does not move to any gears (not even park or neutral).

2002 trailblazer will not shift into any gear out of park.

I had the same problem. these trailblazer are a pain. There is a cable that runs underneath the vehicle, and that is probably the problem. The cable is broke.

My chevy trailblazer wont shift from park to drive.

chances are the shift cable is broke at the transmission, I drilled the rod out of the shift lever and ran a shoulder bolt through the shift lever and cable end and finished up with a lock nut.

2004 Chevy Trailblazer Gear Shifter Moves But Will NOT shift into gear ..Came home from shopping put her in park.. Then couple hours later cranked up to go again, shifter moves loosely... The car is in...

The end of the shift cable has broken, there is a plastic ring at the transmission end of the cable that breaks. You will need to have it towed to the mechanic.

Gear got stuck in nuetral, and in park position in the dashboard and the vehicle won't move--this is my problem on my 2003 trailblazer suv.

It may be the gear selector switch on the tranny where the linkage bolts on its a odd shaped plastic peace you can see if its broke or loose.
