Question about 1999 Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

1996 Isuzu Rodeo speed sensor installation.

I need to change the speed sensor on the tail of the transmission. Is this a fairly simple task? I see the 3 wire harness attached. I am assuming the sensor is threaded on the inside. I am ordering the part today so I have not seen how it attaches. I didn't want any surprises.

How do i fix the speedometer on a 95 isuzu rodeo

no engine stated (size or cylinder counts)
nor if odometer works or not.

one engine has cable head other not.
so....
if odometer is dead on one engine, its VSS dead
if od0meter is dead on other , the cable is bad.
there.

the odometer is that counter deal on the cluster bottom tells how many miles car has moved.
it rolls, 1/10s as you drive, it the counter is dead
that means the odometer is dead. too.

the vss is normally in the transmission or outside it at the rear
It has no relationship to evaporative control which is concerned with the canister and the fuel systems.

The speed sensor could be located on the back of the transmission near the driveshaft.
You can look it up on the auto parts websites for a visual.

Anyone know where I can get a transmission speed sensor for my 2000 Rodeo (v6-atf) that will give me the best bang for the $$$

Why do you need that? Did you replace the little metal and plactic gear that operates it? Simple to fix or you can waste money on a sensor that will not fix it? Sold many gears and about two sensors and electronic parts are non returnable.

Hi, I have a trooper also, I am pretty sure if it has a speed sensor it would ;located on the transmission near the tailshaft. Not sure that will help, but mine is a standard, so I can't look for you.
or the transfer case maybe?
