Low battery gauge indicated

Battery gauge is low after jeep start....
after driving/revving up engine past 3500 rpm...battery gauge goes back to a "normal indicator"
is this the alternator not working properly....

the gauge drops as i drive longer....but not into the red yet...if i use the heater or air con...the battery gauge noticably drops also...
revving up at this point no longer brings the gauge back up to "normal"

i did clean the terminals but did not notice any difference..

i don't have a meter but will get one and test voltage readings at cold and at idle...

    thanks guys!

my battery level went into the red while driving to the shop...
when i noticed it get to the red i was able to turn around b4 getting on the highyway and make it back home.

i did get some readings...cold at 11.9volts and running at 9.99 volts.

so i guess it is the it still safe to drive in the red at 9.99 volts...will this drop as i drive longer?

it is an Interstate MT58 battery...i don't know what type of battery it is.....can i recharge at home to bring it back up to 12.8 to 13?

Not necessarily, this can also be caused by poor battery cable connections or a bad battery cable or a bad connection to the gauge or just a bad gauge.Check or have them checked first, and then have the alternator output tested,a voltmeter connected at the battery posts should measure 14.5 to 14.8 volts at an idle, any lower than this than the alternator is the problem.

Here's a couple more voltages to test, the battery should measure around 12.8 to 13 volts with the motor not running, with accelaeration to around 2500 3000 rpms you should measure15.5 to maybe as high as 16V,but by your description be ready to replace the alternator.

Could be a bad battery, dirty battery connections. From what you state , the alternator seems ok.
To check it, however, you will need to remove it and take to your local auto parts store, as they can check it out for you.

My first route would be the battery connections and then the battery.
Hope this helps!!

My sons1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee had the gauges light on and would not start like battery was dead. Had it jump started and it started. When he put in park it stalled jumped again and worked.

Sounds like a charging system problem and the alternator may not be working. The gauge light will come on if the charging gauge is showing low so you will look at the gauges. Have the battery and charging system tested

Oil pressure dropped

Try to check for any oil leak, if you find so then fix it..If not then try to check the oil filter!!...the filter could be partially clogged or it could be coming apart on the inside, plugging up oil passages...
Thank you!!..

Please post back on how things turned or for further assistance..

Kind Regards!!..

I have a 2006 Scion XA. Few days ago noticed revving sounds while driving the car. Originally thought engine was revving but noticed RPM gauge is normal. The humming/revving sound starts about 20 mins...

under the bonnet on the radiator is an automatic fan, now if the radiator is low or you need to replace the coolant in it or top it up but the car may need a service and let them know the problem.

My grang cherokee2002 us spec, while driving trnz changes fine but when cick down or full excelrate and RPM reaches 4.5 or 5 engine is loosing power and getting noisy and RPM not going more, while gear on...

You are hitting the rev limiter top range, which cuts off your ignition.

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee and the problem drives me crazy, but it is the way the car is designed- as soon as you hit the rev limit, it shuts down ignition and your jeep will "buck" - a real pain when you are trying to accelerate into traffic!

You have the 4.0L straight six engine, yes?

If so, please take my advice and learn to live with the minor annoyance of the rev limiter- that engine is IMHO the best Chrysler ever made (nearly "bulletproof"!) and it was so reliable you cannot even get it in a jeep now! For decades, that engine was used in welders, tractors, generators...and yes, jeeps... and it is a favorite among mechanics for its durability!

Will not accelerate wont even rev past 3500 rpm's will not go faster than 55 mph eigther

most likely a clogged cataytic converter. Remove the 02 sensor. and drive; if better replace the catalytic converter and find out why it may of got clogged. Your prabably not in fuel control and are geting bad gas milage. You will melt the new cat if you dont find out why you melted the first. And sometimes they do fall aprt from age.
