Stuck in park while truck is still running 1998 Lincoln Navigator

Are your brake lights working?
If not, replace the fuse. Still not working? Replace the brake light switch. (Your brake light switch also releases the lock for the gear shift).
If your brake lights are working, are you hearing a soft "click" at the gear shift when you depress the brake? If not, check the lock solenoid at the gear shift lever.
There is also a slight possibility that your park pin is jammed. If you're parked on a hill, it's likely. Have someone push the car back and forth as you try to take it out of park... JUST DON'T RUN THEM OVER. :)

Running lights work turn lights and brake lights do not on 2004 navigator-everything works fine on my sons 98 suburban trailer brand new

does the 3rd brake light in the back window work? check fuses if fuses are OK and the hazard lights work, then the turn signal switch may be bad. I dont know what your sons suburban (trailer?)has to do with your navigator?

Can not shift gear from park to drive, pulled panel up already so I could drive home, brake lights are working.

Brake lights may be working, but sometimes the switch for the brake is connected in a way to the circuitry of the car that the car won't shift out of park with the pedal depressed.

Had this problem in a 1998 Ford Taurus. Had to replace switch to make it work properly. Brake lights worked in that car, too.

Brake Light Doesn't

Yes. Look on the brake pedal lever under the dask. When the brake pedal is pressed the switch is engaged. This is easy enough to replace. If you see two switches, the other one is probably a switch to disable the cruise control.

1998 navigator trailer harness

try http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx. They have very good concise information that might help. You can take a 12 volt test light and check your fuses also. Touch each side of the fuse on the metal part that is exposed. Use your emergency flashers to do this. The turn signal/brake light fuse will only power when it is in use. Check owners manual as there are probably seperate fuses for the trailer and the vehicle. There is probably a connector under the vehicle near the back... usually above the spare tire that can come loose, but not likely unless it is broken. Hope this helps, Mike
