You can probably get the part you need at a car parts store, if you can't you will have to buy it at the dealership. the name of the part you need will depend on the type of system you have. your car was available with either manual or auto a/c. auto a/c is where you set the temp you want and the system comes on and off much like a thermostat in your house. manual a/c is where you switch it on and off yourself. if you have auto a/c you need the blower motor central processor, if you have manual a/c you need the blower motor resistor assembly. hope that helps

Blower Motor not working - Can not get defrost/heat

Sounds like the resistor has went bad, or your blower motor is bad. First check the fuse, then does the blower only run on low or high or not at all? If it runs on low or high your resister is bad. Located under the dash on the passenger side you'll see a small rectangle piece of plastic with a plug. It takes a 5.5mm socket to remove the 2 screws. Otherwise if it does not work at all and the fuse is fine your blower motor is probably no good. I can't remember where that is located at but I think that too is under the dash on the passenger side

check for voltage at the blower motor with the switch on, if none check for voltage at the resistor and the fan switch.

My air in my pontiac aztek comes on sometimes and

If a fuse was blown, the blower wouldn't run at all. It sounds like loose wiring. If it only works on certain numbers, it would most likely be the blower motor resistor. On the passenger side under the glove box, there is a removable panel. Behind the panel is the blower motor. Try to push the wires in a little tighter. Then try out the fan.

The HVAC blower fan on my 2001 Pontiac Aztec stopped working on settings 1-3 several weeks ago. Last week it stopped working at setting 4 and today it stopped working all together. What is the most likely...

the blower not working on settings 1-3 is the blower motor resistor. this limits the power provided to the blower motor itself to change the speed. at setting 4 it is getting full power. since it quit on 4 also, i would still say the resistor needs to be replaced first, then see if the blower comes back. you may also need a blower motor. if you have a voltmeter you can just turn the switch to 4 and see if the motor is still getting 12 volts. if it is and doesn't run, it needs a blower motor too. if it's not, then its just the resistor

Blower not working

I would suspect the blower motor speed control switch is defective. Depending on how this system is wired it could be the blower motor resistor pack, but the only thing I have seen cause this is a defective speed control. Do not rule that out as a possibility. Salvage yard would be a good place to buy a speed control switch for the blower motor. The only way you will know for sure is to replace it.

2002 AZTEK

take the blower motor out of your way first its easier to manage. there are 9/32 bolts holding both the motor and resistor up. there are two bolts on the resistor itself. one in the front and one in the back. the one it back is tough. have to cram your socket in there against the rubber just to get at it.

Hope this fixs it. jeff

Where is blower motor resistor in a 2002 pontiac aztek

There is a resistor pack for the fan speed in the ductwork near the fan.. It is very easy to replace once it is located. Ussually there are either one or two 5.5mm screws holding it in place. Once you get it out you will notice the resistors that are burnt.
