Question about 1991 Toyota Camry
On the passenger side of the engine compartment on my 1991 Camry V6, there is a belt that runs around the pulley on the alternator, a/c compressor, and one more pulley that appears to just come out of the bottom of the engine.
Today shortly after I started my car and flipped on the a/c, this belt started squealing badly, then I heard some funky crunchy noises and the squeal stopped... but so did my a/c. I popped the hood and discovered that the track on the bottom pulley came completely off (and fell out of the bottom of the car, and rolled across the parking lot).
I reached in and removed the belt (which was now slack) and drove the car straight home (the battery is relatively new, and I only had to go 2 miles).
So, here's my question: What is that bottom pulley? Is it easy to replace? Does it require lifting the engine out to get to it? Is this finally the end of my Camry? (It's got about 150k miles on it, still should have some good life in it)
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer....
