Question about 1996 Ford Econoline

1 Answer

Where is the clutch fluid reservoir

I bought a 1996 Ford Econovan Maxi (second hand) didn't get a user manual with it, cannot seem to find if there is a separate clutch fluid reserve, or it's shared with the brake fluid one. Tried searching on the net for a user or service manual, but can't even seem to do that. Please help.

If it's a hydralic clutch, then it's shared

Saturn sc2 1996 clutch pedal all the way to floor and car still acts like it us in gear with pedal released

clutch slave cylinder bad. Check to see if clutch reservoir has brake fluid in it. If reservoir is low try filling and pumping clutch pedal with hand until its firm. It is also possible that clutch is worn out and pressure plate is broken

Can you show me pi cure of clutch fluid reservoir and its location on 1998 ford escort

if you don't see any clutch fluid reservoir for the clutch, there are two possibilities: clutch master shares fluid reservoir with the brakes or clutch is using cable not hydraulic.

FORD ECONOVAN MAXi 2.0 Hi, i have a serious creaking and groaning noise from the front nearside when I hit a bump or speed hump could I need a new shock absorber? I dont get the bump I would expect

It could be your shock/strut for sure. It could also be other suspension parts like the control arm or ball joints but I would suspect shocks first. If you arent extremely proficient, I would leave this repair to the pros. It isnt hard but it is incredibly dangerous. To get the old shock off you need to compress the spring with a special tool, and once it is compressed, it is like a bomb waiting to go off and could easily kill you. Take it to a shop and have them confirm the problem then do the repair. It should be around 150 for the part ( or less!) and another 100 for the labor.

I have a 1990 econovan ,with a 13b rotary, have changed the clutch master cylinder and kant seem to bleed it, help please

You may need to prime the master cylinder first. Disconnect the line at the master cylinder and place your finger over the hole. Have some gently pump the pedal while you finger acts as a non return valve That is when the pedal is depressed allow fluid to escape and when the pedal is release use you finger to stop air getting back in. If you have a line that is higher than the slave cylinder (where the flexible hose joins the steel line )loosen here and depress the pedal and retighten before the pedal is released . Keep doing all procedures until you get solid fluid out. Finally bleed out the slave cylinder as normally would be done.. Remember air collects at the highest point in the line and fluid will not move as a solid block but will run past the air and not push it out so you have to bleed the high points.

How to replace clutch master cylinder Ford Econovan Maxi 1993 without pulling the entire dash out?

Wait. Maybe you're in the wrong place. All cars I have seen have the clutch master cylinder bolted to the firewall inside the engine compartment. You take off the line going to the clutch, remove two bolts or nuts holding the unit to the firewall; and remove the unit. The only thing maybe to remove under the dash is the pushrod from the clutch pedal to the master cylinder.
Now if yours is different, then proceed, but check under the hood for the clutch master cylinder first.
