Check engine light will not come on when a mount is broken. Likely the problem is inside the transmission.

Possibly the clunking noise may be your control arm bushings being bad. As for the check engine light, get the code read and go from there.

SOURCE: Coolant light keeps coming back on

more than likely these two are not related. You may have a bad thermostat or if applicable there's a sensor on the cylinder head that will regulate temperature that might need to be changed out (this is primarily located near the radiator fluid tube). As far as the thump thump thump noise i would need more detail to figure that out.

no you need to take it and have the codes pulled on it, the abs system will disable the traction control system.Without knowing what the codes are for the abs system it would not be possible to say what the problem is.

SOURCE: 2000 Cavalier catalytic converter was stolen/check engine light

The check engine light is probably indicating a catalytic converter malfunction the Oxygen sensor that is located after the cat tells the computer if the cat is functioning properly it is possible the wire has been broken or damaged. To see if the cat is there jack up the car and look under the passenger and driver area of the car follow the exhaust pipe from the front back the first thing the pipe comes to should be the cat it looks like a muffler with a wire going to a sensor after toward the back side of it, I doubt they never installed one but I guess it is possible.

I think my motor mounts my be broken how can i tell 1999 chevy cavalier

have someone power brake the car, wile you watch for the engine to rise up on its mounts make sure to power brake it in forward and reverse if the mounts are broken there will be a very noticeable lift in the engine. also check the top thrust mounts they look like a dog bone and mount right behind the radiator make sure the rubber bushings are in good shape and their is no movement back and fourth with the engine......HAVE FUN

My 2002 chevy cavalier window is stuck and wont go up or down what can i do to fix it or atlest get me by

you have to replace the motor in it. i think this is a defect in the car. i have a 2002 cavalier z24 and had to have the motor replaced FOUR times in the drivers window, THREE in the passenger, and TWICE each in the back. they also re-did the entire electrical wiring (allegedly) while it was still under warranty... yet the problem persists. i hardly ever use my windows either. my back window is currently broken (won't go back up) so i am refusing to fix it

2002 chevy cavalier ac fan does not work on high, only on bi level

Most probable cause is a bad BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR (BMR). This part is located underneath the right side of the dash mounted into the blower motor housing. The BMR has a circuit board that is suseptible to corrosion and moisture damage because it is in an enclosed area with much condensation. After replacing it a couple of times, the 3rd time I dipped the circuit board in TOOL DIP - the stuff you rubber coat screw drivers with - have not had a problem since (3 years).
