Number 3 not burnning the feul but is not smelling rich

Code is number 3 in open loop or open circuit can't remmber wich one it was its like a skip but i'v checked and replaced a lot of things becuase i have another motor just like it its like its not getting the fuel in the cylinder but its got the fire and the pop not shure about the fuel but i did change injeters still the same thing

Check the compression. If there is none, add 3 tablespoons of 50 weight oil to the cylinder and start the engine. The cylinder will fire because the oil will act as a buffer. This may take a couple of times to completely seal the cylinder with carbon from the burnt oil.

ok SMOG failed. right?
what speed, there are 2 in uSA, 15 and 25.mph.
so there are 3 tests, which one. all are PPM in usa.
parts per million.
but is that HC , CO, or NOX? or ?

based on your numbers is HC
hydrocarbons or in barstool, its raw gasoline leaving rear of car.
unburned fuel..

572 ppm is way too high 12-19 is normal
id say the CAT is bad.
but can be , engine is bad, and burned out the cat.
that is why all savvy mechanics, check the that the engines
holds closed loop status, (EFI closed loop) at the speed yours failed.
if not in closed loop the cat will burn up (rich)
that is first.
Once that is cured. you check HC again. if out of spec
you did burn up the can , new cat time.

that is the correct way.

The gas pump burn,replace with a new pump,and not getting any electricity coming to the feul pump.all feul pump is ok.


Check this 3 items in this order efi fuse, efi, relay, circuit open relay.all of them in the engine compartment's fuse box.

HO2S MONITOR
The HO2S sensors must be tested thoroughly because they are at the heart of the Fuel and Catalyst monitors.
The operation of the Emissions control in OBD depends on the sensors being at proper operating temperature. Both the catalysts and the HO2S sensors need to be at several hundred degrees C before they are working efficiently, so the latter have heaters built in to get them up to operating temperature as soon as possible. Because the HO2S sensors need to operate at near stoichometry they cannot be used when rich fuel/air mixtures are needed and so:
64bullet.gif For 180 seconds from cold start the system is Open Loop - fuelling is arranged as a function of temperature, (ECT, IAT) and air input (MAF) etc, with no reference to stoichometric (lamda) levels. 64bullet.gif The engine is in open loop during WOT (Wide Open Throttle). 64bullet.gif When the engine is in negative torque (ie overrun, engine being driven by transmission) fuel may not be delivered via the INJectors at all. During such periods fuelling is in Open Loop. The HO2S sensors are numbered so that the upstream sensor 1 is always on the Bank which contains Cylinder # One. The down stream sensor is numbered 2. Hence the DOHC engine designs contain the HO2S sensors 11 (forward of the Catalyst) and 12 (downstream of the catalyst).
On the V6 24V the driver's side of the engine contains Cylinder 1, so the configuration is shown here:

sounds like it running to rich of a fuel mixture, the first thing i would do is replace the oxygen sensor and also make sure its not misfiring an any cylinder, start there, hope this helps.

Open the hood and smell gas fumes. shops says it is the feul sending unit


The fuel sending unit is the basically the gas gauge.

I would check charcoal evap canister to see if it is full, check vacuum lines. If car runs rich, then have 02 sensors replaced. You can also get a multi-tester and test fuel pressure regulator to make sure it is operating properly, if car runs good, skip this step and check gas lines, and fume lines.

Any tune up? A Front sensor I think you have to replace, put some seafoam from auto zone for cleaning injectors.What is oil level? Any codes like 300-1-2-3-4-5-6 this mean one is bad PO302, tune up first!!!

Missfire and smell of gas


Unplugging the mass airflow sensor may be ok to do just to get you back home,,but it is not wise to leave it unplugged,,because your engine control unit cant decide just how rich or lean to make the fuel mixture without it.
A smell of gasoline is usualy a sign of this.
