Question about 2004 Honda Odyssey

Seems like doors bang against open stops

Is there anyway to adjust the sliding doors on my 2004 Odyssey to keep them from banging when opened?

It looks like the doors (both sides) are trying to open too far and bangs against the stop. If I put a piece of form tape there it will make the banging worse. I'm looking to adjust the travel of the door so it wont open as much.

Is this when it's opened and slidding back ?
if so there is form tape you can buy and cut off a pice and place at the back of the rollers were they stop.

Dodge Caravan sliding passenger door will not close shut it just makes a bang noise when I try manually and it does the same thing on automatic! Just makes a bang and opens again. We have tried to mess...

The door jam,the metal part on the door that catches the other metal part to allow it to close right sounds like its messed up, ita a part on the door part that could just need to be pushed up and oiled so it will catch right to close.I've had that problem so its worth a shot.

Do a reset on the door system, by pulling the door fuse. I don't have location, possibly drivers side fuse box.

Has the catch been operated with the door open? Is the door just banging against the keeper? If so put a screwdriver or even a pen in the catch and operate the door handle and slide the screwdriver away to simulate the keeper on opening the door.

Sliding door

It may have a switch which engages when the door is fully open, if the switch is bad then the door would continue to try to open (too far)

I would check the pin that the door locks onto when it is shut. It may be loose or worn or needs some kind of adjustment.

Make sure nothing jammed in the way to stop the door from moving and is it one of those automatic closing doors, because if it is, you may either need you motor replaced or your power connections to the motor checked for shorts and broken wires.

We just got ours, and it does the same thing sometimes, on the driver's side.
I realized that sometimes it isn't opening QUITE all the way, and that if I push it open about 2 more inches until it stops, it will now close using the handle.

Honda Odyssey doors

I read about this issue while I was looking for a fix to mine. Try the following:

Remove fuse #13 for 30 seconds or more from the passenger side fusebox. This will reset the door and the clock.

OR

1.) Disable the power door switch on the left dashboard.
2.) Remove the power door fuses located under the front passenger leg area.
3.) Manually open and close both sliding doors.
4.) Restore the power door fuses located under the front passenger leg area.
5.) Enable the power door switch on the left dashboard.
6.) Try opening the sliding doors.
