You could check your fuses for your fans or let your engine idle and watch and see if they turn on and off again. Sometimes the fan motors seize up. and need to be replaced. Whens the last time you had your thermostat replaced? I hope this was helpful to you Thanks for using Fixya.com........Have a good evening!

1997 Honda Passport overheating and no heat inside car

Low coolant is the usual culprit, followed by a bad thermostat. When the car is cold take the radiator cap off and check the coolant level and add as needed, then make sure overflow tank is at the correct level. If the radiator is low but the overflow has fluid, replaced the radiator cap.

Nissan maxima loses power after 50 miles per accelaration

Could be an overheating problem, the head may be reaching a certain temperature that causes it to warp. It would do that if it had overheated in the past. Check the radiator and see if there is oil at the inside top of it. If there is, remove it and replace with anti-freeze and water. Then add AlumaSeal aluminum powder to the radiator fluid through the radiator cap, not the overflow container. Clean the surfaces of the radiator cap and radiator before replacing the cap.

Could it be a thermostatno heat had to add radiator fluid to overflow and it is not overheating on the guage

If the fluid was low, you have a leak . If there are no external leaks then you might have a head gasket problem.

How much antifreeze to add to an emty raterator and over flow tank for a 96 toyota corolla

The best method is to fill the radiator up with a mixture of antifreeze and water. The mixture details should be on the antifreeze container. Once the radiator is full let the car run until the thermostat opens up and you should see the level of fluid go down in the radiator. Fill the radiator again while the thermostat is opened. Then add fluid to the overflow tank to the fill line. That should do it. If you have put in too much it will run into the overflow container when it is not needed in the car.

My car overheated today,we put cold water in the overflow,to get home,it seemed ok,it was about a 10 minute ride, and it started to go up again,we dont think the fan is coming on,he checked the main area...

Could be a faulty water pump, clogged or stuck Thermostat or clogged radiator. Once the engine cools down remove the radiator cap then start the engine and wait for it to warm up to operating temperature. At operating temp you should be able to see the fluid in the radiator circulate. If you don't then you need to let the engine cool again and remove the thermostat or replace it. And run the same test again. If you still don't see the fluid circulate then replace the water pump.

Jeep Overheating?

I would suggest you have the radiator and cooling system pressure tested . .another option would be to get a new radiator cap and try that. If you want to do a quick test for the radiator cap .. try loosening it to the first notch and see if your overheating problem subsides ..

You will need to pour the coolant directly into the radiator. To do this the engine must be cold or you risk burning yourself when removing the pressure cap. Fill up the radiator to the top and then add more to the overfolow tank. Make sure you push the cap down to close and twist the cap so the cap will not come off
