Put it on the highest oms rating and put the terminals one on each end and read what the resistance is if it is open meaning it makes no contact then it is bad if it swings all the way over to infinity it is also bad it is shorted, But am unsure if you meant a thermistor? that is totally different let me know if that is what you mean,

There is a routine you can follow to help clear your computer of any stray error codes after maintenance. Ask your mechanic (or inspection station) how to go about this before assuming something else is wrong.

Blower on my 06 caravan has stopped working, what do I do, all fuses have been checked and are fine.

open your glove box, squeeze in both sides and let it drop down. Directly behind there, is the blower resister, its approx. 3" x 1.5" with a 5/16 screw on each end and two wiring connectors. (one big one small)

Remove that, there is a piece of wire that runs from one end to the other on the back side that has a small bullet shape thermal fuse built into it (prob. red on one end). You can test for continuity with a multimeter on each side of the bullet shaped fuse. It is a thermal fuse that goes bad often. If you are handy with a soldering iron, you get one from Radio Shack and replace it for $1.49 (240/10a/144 deg) take the resistor and these numbers and they should be able to help you. Let me know if you need the specific R. Shack part #, I may have it at home.

Just clip the stiff wire ( don't cut at the base, I cut where the wire is bent at 90 deg. on each end to leave some to work with) and remove the old thermal fuse. Slip the new one in and solder it to the old wire and clip the excess. Tin your wires first with a bist of solder and work quickly so you don't overheat the new fuse. Too much heat could ruin it to.

Hope this helps. (of course you could just buy a new resistor for $20-$30, probably an easier solution

I have a 1997 caravan and i got a po441 code what

You will have to test the purge solenoid that vents fuel vapor to the charcoal canister ( or back into the engine ) with a multimeter, check for ohms resistance per values set by dodge, the values are in the haynes repair manual.

How do I test a rear windshield wiper motor ? Generally it doesn't work at all. Sometimes the blade will move half way and then stop. With a helping hand it can be returned to the static position. All...

There two ways. One is dynamic testing, and the other is static testing. Dynamic testing simply means you put power to it to see if it runs. Static testing means measuring the resistance at the terminal, which you will need a multimeter. Dynamic testing just requires 12 volts source.

We have a dodge caravan, and blower motor quit working so i replaced it, it still doesnt work, is the only fuse panel under the hood

tn my 2005 Grand Caravan there is a resister unit located behind the glove box that also has a "thermal fuse link". This fuse is not replacable and if it blows your fan motor will not work. The replacment unit is $14.00 at Auto Zone.

I have a 2005 dodge caravan. the blower for the heater quit working . I tested it and I am not getting power to fan control switch .

There is 3 things you can check: the fuse, the relay switch, and the resister block. If these are ok, check the wiring from the blower to the fuse block, to the control switch. good luck.
