There are to money things to look for, We need to get DTC codes from your ECM and hope that will shine some light at the end of the tunnel.
Here is a link on how to retrieve the DTC codes, after you have the codes if any there is also a link on the web sight to your year and engine type for the DTC codes.
Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help you. Just don't like the guessing game. http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/

No codes, ok lets start with the Crankshaft sensor, Check to see if the wire is broken or the sensor is faulty. The sensor is on the lower left side from the front of the engine on the timing cover behind the harmonic damper.

You also noted that you replaced all the parts in the distributor, double check that. The camshaft sensor is in the distributor. If the the sensor are bad it may not be sending signals to the ECM for the fuel injector to activate.

The other thing to that we need to try is to disconnect the MAP sensor. If it starts then replace the Map sensor, and check the Injectors in the Throttle body. Make sure there are no carbon build up or varnish build up too.

Ok lets summarize this, try disconnecting the MAP Sensor, Clean the EGR Valve and Throttle body and Throttle, Recheck the distributor for the any broken wire to the Camshaft sensor , and the Crankshaft sensor.

Good luck and keep me posted. Bare with me since I also drive a tour to help pay for my need to speed habit LOL.

There is a "spider" injection system in the intake manifold. Check that.

My Chevy 2500 p/u will only start and run when I pour gas in the carb...if I kill it for 2 minutes , I have to do it again to get it started ...uhg..frustrating !!! One guy told me it was a spider sumthing...

Lets start with terminology. I am assuming the truck is newer than 1987 so you would have fuel injection. No carb.
If it is a vortec engine, either a 4.3 or larger, and built after 1993, it could have central port fuel injection. That style uses one injector and a spider of lines that go to each intake port. This is inside the upper intake manifold.
Vortec engines require more fuel pressure than engines with port fuel injection or throttle body injection. So the first thing you need to do is check base fuel pressure before and after you crank the engine. You'll need a pressure gauge to do it. Normal fuel pressure at idle for a port injected engine is 35psi and 60psi for a central pfi system.

I have a 1993 GMC Safari van code W engine with automatic transmission, cruise control. It is central port injection. My problem is it is it will not start. I have change the all parts in the distributor,...

Spray some carburetor cleaner into the engine an see if it starts ! I don't think 58 psi fuel pressure is enought ! Has to be above 60 psi .415-455 kPa (60-66 psi).

How many quarts of transmission fluid does my 1999 chevy astro van require?

1999 CHEVROLET TRUCKS ASTRO VAN 4.3L 6-cyl Engine Code [W]
CAPACITIES: Automatic Transmission, 4L60-E Initial Fill..........4.7 liters
Automatic Transmission, Total Fill 4 speed 4L60-E..........10.6 liters

To check fluid level, transmission should be hot and engine running at idle. Pull the transmission dip stick out "red" wipe clean and re-insert. Check level of transmission fluid as indicated on the dip stick using the second reading and make sure the Astro is parked on leveled ground. Add Dexron III or VI as needed and do not over fill.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck

1993 Chevy Astro Mini Van not starting

If You can start the vehicle off ether only then you have a fuel issue. the pump is working and the fuel pressure regulator is too. so either the injectors are not getting an electrical signal to open and close of possibly, Your oil sending unit is defective and has shut down your fuel system (a safety).

Has the 'Check Engine' light come on? I had this problem at 30,000 miles and the trouble codes set were transmission component slipping. Ultimately required replacement of the transmission.
