Easiest to replace would be the factory Delco AM/FM CD...plug in to existing terminals. If wires cut, you should include the plug in terminals with the replacement radio...Local Pic-A-Part is my go to salvage yard radio $25-$75...Walmart also sells radio wire install kits...$14.95? Generally, the way I put an aftermarket cd-player in, is to use a new 'harness adapter' that connects to the old harness and has all of the wires color coded and labeled for easy installation of a new radio using wire nuts. I wouldn't try to cut into the existing harness, without knowing what was what.

You can purchase a wire harness from Auto Zone for you particular car, all the wires match up and it takes the guess work out, it cost about $15.00 and about five minutes to connect wire and ready to install.

The player or radio coming out should have a sticker on it with a diagral. If not, the only two you need to worry about is the red and bla. They are the hot and grd. and are larger than the speaker wires. Get those two hooked up, put in a cd and turn it on. Then match up the speaker outputs to the correct speaker. Your best bet on that one is to go to a place that sells car audio systems or even some autoparts retailers have them,and get the proper adapter harness already made up. A few more dollars but, a whole lot less headaches.

Getting hot is always a sign of bad wireing of some sort. It can come from wireing to wires together that shouldn't be together or possibly a bad ground. Re-check your wireing.

u need the colors of the radio or the car wires.... here are the car wires and the radio are below that. I suggest however gettiing a wiring kit..They are around 8 dollars and well worth the money. It makes is so easy to connect a radio.

do you have a test light?your speaker wires should be four sets of matching color,dark/light blue,dark/light green,dark/light purple and one other matching set of colors. then there should be one black wire which should be ground.with a test light you can find your power and accesory wires. your power wire will always have power with key on or off,the acc wire will only have power when key on. i hope this will help.
