Question about 2006 Land Rover Range Rover
The message "transmission failsafe program" comes on when i start the car with the P light not illuminated and when i turn off the car and start again, the message goes and everything is normal, at times when i change gears the message appears and i have to restart the car again...
Sounds like a sensor issue on your transmission. it is going into failsafe mode for some reason because the computer is not receiving an input that it should. there may be a loose wiring connection on the tranny. the first thing i would do is check for loose wires. after that you may need one of several sensors. if the car works fine when this message does not appear i would not think the transmission itself is bad.
