Question about 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse
I took it to 2 guys. 1 guy said it was the the water pump and the other guy said it was the belt by the pump. I don't know much about cars but the first guy wants to charge me $300 to change the water pump and i don't even know if thats the problem. Please Help Thanks. for a while my car made that noise and whenever i used my ac the power steerin would come off and i would have to wrestle with the steering wheel. every time i start the car it make this noise like bats are under the hood i have to rev thr engine so it goes out i fxed the power steering so im sure its my alternator belt ive been thru can and cans of belt dressin
The water pump is driven by the timing belt. If it has been over 100K, it is time for both to be replaced. If it is the drive belts, be sure to use factory belts, and use the proper tension.
