I would not dismiss the possibility of the oil pressure switch being in the pump circuit...gm has used these on and off since the chevy vega. (remember them?)

Oil sending unit has nothing to do with the fuel pump. Sounds like bad wiring, or PCM issue.

The PCM is the Powertrain control module. It is the brain of the vehicle. Can you hear the fuel pump turning on at all?

Oil sending unit

Hi,

It's usually threaded into the bottom of the block near the oil filter, it should have a wire running from the top of it.

Thanks.
