Question about 2002 Mercury Sable

1 Answer

Air conditioner I am trying to recharge my air conditioner and have not been able to find a "blue" cap. I have however found 2 black caps. One is located by the raidiator and the other is on the air conditioner cylinder. Where do I hook up the coolant to refill the air con? The cap by the raidiator or the cylinder? Or am I not looking hard enough for the cap?! how do i recharge the air condition on 2002 sable

The rear fitting is the low pressure side where you charge the system

SOURCE: air conditioner

The one closest to your AC compressor... i.e. the part that the belt spins around.. Is the low side.. Not to mention, air conditioning recharge hoses ONLY FIT on the low side.. Worst case scenario, try both.. the one that it clamps down on to is the low side..

The port in the larger of the 2 AC lines from the compressor is the port you charge at.

I would like to know where the low pressure side side is on a 2001 Dodge Caravan so I can recharge the air conditioner. Thanks

you should have 2 lines coming off of your compressor.1 of them will have a blue cap on the line .it will look like a air valve on a car tire.the cap is blue the other is red .blue being the low pressure and red is the high side.if you have no caps then crank car turn on a/c feel the line ,and if it is hot ,thats high pressure, and if it gets cold or cool thats low pressure, sorry if i confused you

How do i recharge the air conditioner on a 1996 chevy subrban 5.7 engine

Just get an air conditioner recharge kit from Walmart or most parts stores, and hook the filler tube to the low side connector. It will have a blue cap. You can't get it wrong because it won't fit on the other one. Start your engine, turn on the AC and keep adding until it won't take any more. Usually 2 to 3 cans if it's right empty.

Air conditioner

the smaller cap, is where it is refilled at, that is the low side, the container will only fit on one of the openings, if fluid or air sound happens and doesnt stop for the neck on the ac recharge bottle then you are not on the right spot. but normally the caps are set as black and blue, but look for the smaller cap, if they dont look different before you do anything remove the caps, put the openings on the caps back to back to each other and look close you will see a difference in the cap size... the smaller is where you need to conect the recharger up to... my guess would be the cap by the cylinder is the smaller... I dont know unless I could see it... hope this helps...
