turn the engine over with the distributor cap off and the plugs out.
as it comes up on compression on the #1 cylinder, is the distributor pointing at the right spot for that plug to fire? or is it 180 degrees off?
if it's off... pull the distributor out and rotate 180 degrees and drop it back in...
let me know what you find out.

Why does my inline rebuilt 6 cylinder engine knock on my 69 Ford f100?

Putting engine under a load by reving it can get that only if your crank was not perfectly round and checked before install by a machine shop always have them checked along with the engine block. Also it can be one of your connecting rods which is why i go back to the crank being checked out by a professional. Hope that helps!

Best way to check the knocking on the lower end of the motor 4.3 GMC do I take lifters off and check down through there

you wont see anything from there --lower knock usually called rod knock caused by a bad bearing or wrist pin [piston pin]to inspect the lower end is by the oil pan you can inspect the crank and rods from there

My acura is making loud banging noise from front when idling. sounds like a missing spark plug but all spark plugs are fine. what could it be?

Can be a lot of things.

Could be a bad rod or rod barring.

Could be a clearance issue in a rebuilt engine.

I wouldn't run it until you Take it to a shop for diagnostic.

Motor wont crank

It has happened to me that, when ordering parts, i was given .025 oversized bearings after ordering standards. take it back apart, and double check the bearing marks. if they are what you ordered, use some micrometers or plastigage, and get the correct set.

1994 Honda Accord EX VTEC Engine Knocking.

You will have to pull the engine and remove the crank shaft and connecting rods you have a bad rod bearing. I will strongly suggest taking to a machine shop and having the crankshaft turned and the rods resized. This will be no minor undertaking and will require time to repair. You could also look into purchasing a rebuilt engine.

Not Sure What Engine to Replace Iron Duke in Fiero

I don't know if you listened to the insane person who previously answered but in a fiero w/o any mods you can bolt in a 3.4 V6 (1992-1995 Camaro/Firebird) or a 4.9 Cadillac V8, four cylinders I'm fuzzy on but I think cavaliers, corsicas etc. engines bolt in, you can do an ecotech but it requires ***loads of work. There is always the Northstar or 350 V8 option ;-] The point is, with a fiero, any engine can go in, just amounts to hours and dollars...

Crank - Piston Rod Bearing Replacement - Queston

You will have to have the crankshaft machined if the rod bearing is the cause of the noise, so you will have to pull the engine, if u don't do the crank the bearing will fail in a few miles.
