Question about 2002 Saturn VUE

1 Answer

Overheating Issues I have a 2002 Saturn VUE with the V6 engine. I'm not real sure who the manufacturer of the engine is, but know it's not Honda. It has really been a grat vehicle with few problems. After my most recent oil change, the vehicle sounds like there is no oil present on the top of the engine. It seems to get hot quickly on a short trip (2 miles)and has a lot of lifter noise. Removing the oil fill cap and looking in with a flashlight, I can see no oil present even with engine running. The vehicle starts just fine everytime and the oil light goes out within seconds, which indicates to me that there is pressure and would rule out the oil pump. We changed the oil filter just to be sure the one put on during the oil change wasn't bad, but that did not correct the issue. The oil is clean and at the correct level. I might suspect the timing belt, but it starts just fine.

Drain the oil. Then Put engine flush in and leave the car run until normall temp is reached. Then drain and add new oil.Only use recommended oil for that Motor.Sounds like you have a oil blockage.wurth trying.

How do i get to the thermostat on my 2002 saturn vue v6 3.0 ltr

First you will need to remove the intake plenum, then the lower intake.

Remove the hose from the thermostat inlet housing.

Remove the bolt that holds the extension housing to the head near the oil dipstick.

Carefully jack up the passenger side of the engine and remove the t-stat extension housing.

Remove the thermostat housing bolts and remove the housing.

These are a real pain in the captain s quarters!

I bought a saturn vue with a Honda v6. I can't find the trans-axle dipstick where the manual says. can you help?

Hey Guru???
What'd you do rank yourself a guru? Cause you sure don't KNOW what you're talking about.
Honda V6 3.5 engine is in the 2004-2007 Saturn Vues with 6 cylinder engines. It is the ONLY V6 offered. The old version was from Opel.
The trans dip stick is on the right side of the engine while the oil stick is front left.

2nd, 4th, and reverse went out in my saturn, now stuck in 3rd, burning plastic smell?!?!?!

Your Vue could have several engine/trans configs; the GM 4-cylinder with 4 speed trans or VTi variable trans; all 2004-2007 V6 Vues' used a Honda drivetrain with very little issues. There were countless problems the the VTi transmission- my guess would be that's what you have and there were several recalls reguarding those issues; I would check with a dealer quickly...

Is it true that the 2006 saturn vue has a honda engine

Only the V6 Engine is made by Honda. The I4 is made by GM.
Honda agreed to supply GM with some of their engines in exchange for GM supplying them with some diesel engines

What are the steps in changing spark plugs on a 2002 saturn vue six cylinder suv

I think you bought the dreaded Opel v6 in your Saturn. If it has six rubber hoses on the intake tubes, thats the Opel. A couple of years later, Saturn started using Honda v6's. A royal pain to replace the plugs, suggest a repair shop because the intake has to come off.
