Question about 2000 Nissan Sentra
CD player worked great for years and has recently started to not take CDs about 90% of the time. Sometimes if I put a disc in enough times in a row, it will work, but not usually. Radio works fine. Not sure if I need to replace the stereo, or if I can fix it easily. I have the same problem with my 2000 Nissan Sentra .. which ever CD I put inside be it original or burnt, it spits out giving a "ERR" display. I trie cleaning with a Philips CD Cleaning disc. Still doesn't work. Please help
If cleaning didn't help, then replacing is the way to go.You can go to a local stereo shop and see if they can fix it easily.they might know the trick on doing it.It's worth a try.Don't go to Best buy.I know you have seen one as you were driving around town, just pull in and see what's up,They may have fixed one as the same as your Nissan.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: CD problem
the lens is not good that why it can't read the cd,the lens must be replaced, but it is better to buy a new car cd player,as if u change the lens ,it does not last for long

The machine is trying to tell you that the laser is not calibrated to see/read the disk.
The laser is factory focussed so that it sees the substrate of the cd coating and this acts as a base line for the responses it gets.
A heavy impact such as a big pothole or a wreck can knock it out
There is little or nothing you can do about it as it would need to go to a workshop for recalibration.
The cost of such an operation will probably outweigh the replacement cost
You may get a fixed cost repair from the manufacturers if you are lucky

Sounds like the radio has a problem, there is a site on the web that you can research the error code. I don't remember the site but search your radio and problem on the web. Your radio should either display the error code or the light may be blinking, record the number of blinks for reference.
