Test the brake light switch at the top of the lever brake pedal is attached to, it is most likely defective, u will have to remove the panel under the dash to see the switch, with a 12 volt test light (avail from any parts store) test for voltage at one side of the switch, when u press the brake pedal u should have voltage (test light illuminates) at both sides, if not the switch or the connector is bad..

Brake light dont work


check the fuse for the brake lights. The brake lights and siganl lights use the same bulb filament. The parking and running lights use a dimmer filament in the bulb. There are 2 filaments.
Your brake lights work through the multifunction switch which operates the signal lights. If the signal lights work, you may have a bad brake lamp switch which is on your brake pedal arm.

From what you just said i dont belive the mechanic checked your fuses correctly.

Check your self to confirm, But if no avial i belive the controller for your lighting may be fried.

I would say that your problem would be in your headlight switch. Remove and test wire leading to tail lights.
