Test the brake light switch at the top of the lever brake pedal is attached to, it is most likely defective, u will have to remove the panel under the dash to see the switch, with a 12 volt test light (avail from any parts store) test for voltage at one side of the switch, when u press the brake pedal u should have voltage (test light illuminates) at both sides, if not the switch or the connector is bad..

Brake lights dont work and all back lights stay on

Do not drive the Town Car until you get the light problem figure out.

There are two possible components at fault.

Brake switch (above the brake paddle) can jam to on position.
Move the drive seat back and dive down to check on the condition of the brake switch.

Main light switch can be on its way out.

Check both and you should be on the right track/

My bet is on the foot brake switch,

Brake light dont work

check the fuse for the brake lights. The brake lights and siganl lights use the same bulb filament. The parking and running lights use a dimmer filament in the bulb. There are 2 filaments.
Your brake lights work through the multifunction switch which operates the signal lights. If the signal lights work, you may have a bad brake lamp switch which is on your brake pedal arm.
Let us know what you find.
