Question about 2005 Dodge Caravan
Right power sliding door of 2005 grand varavan SLX opens or closes only part way and must be manually opened or shut. Left door still operates fine. I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan and the right sliding door will not close or open fully until I manually do it. What is the issue?
Replace the wire track harness in the lower door opening.

The problem is probably a broken wire in your plastic track (looks like a chain) that runs underneath the sliding door sill. You don't have to remove the door sill just look underneath it when the sliding door is open. Wherever the door stops look at the track and note where it bends. That's probably where the wire is broken. You can pop off a link of the plastic track with your fingernail or small screwdriver. There will be several wires in there. My broken wire was one of the thick wires. I soldered it back together with an additional piece of electrical wire and used shrink tubing to seal it. You could use electrical tape. Before you start disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety's sake. Also, you can find lots of videos on youtube showing you how to do this. That's how I learned and fixed mine for free. Just search youtube for "caravan sliding door wiring harness". Good luck.

Tips for a great answer:

If your vehicle has
the dual power sliding doors, both doors will have
to be reset. To reset a door, do the following:
1. Check to be sure the power sliding door is
unlocked and securely closed.
2. Turn the ignition to LOCK.
3. If the power sliding door overhead console
switch is in the override (deactivation)
position, return to the activation position.
4. Open the sliding door using the remote
keyless entry transmitter, overhead console
switch, or passenger switch. Allow the door to
travel fully open.
If the door does not travel to the fully open
position, press the overhead console switch to the
override (deactivation) position and slide the
door fully open and closed. Check for foreign
objects in the tracks. Repeat the procedure starting
with Step 1. If the door resists travel to the fully
open position, see your retailer for service.
