1998 Honda Civic EX Evap canister or charcoal canister location please I put new Honda gas cap on about 1 month ago light is still on

You are sure that the CEL you have is for evap yes? The charcoal canister should actually be located under the hood of the car if I remember properly. If not it should be near the gas tank, possibliy in the trunk to the side of the carpeting. Remember after you service the car to clear the CEL.

I drive a 1998 Honda Civic DX. One day ago WHile the engine was cold, I revved up the motor in order to get out of a slippery/snowy parking spot. The check engine light came on. It has not gone away- but...

advance auto, pep boys or auto zone will hook up a scanner and check why the light is on-for nothing. get the actual code (i.e. 'P0174) and report it back here for opinions as to why it set the cehck engine light (CEL).

Code P0108 means your MAP sensor circuit is open. MAP means Manifold Absolute Pressure. You should be able to buy one at your local parts store - otherwise, the dealer.

Rough idle and loss of power

you have a random misfire problem. probably causing the car to go into "limp mode" which causes the power loss. check your ignition timing, it is probably too far advanced. if that is not the problem you may need new spark plugs/wires/cap/rotor (ignition tune-up). but check the timing first.
