Ignition sw problems

After starting the "ABS" and "SRS" lights stay on and the windows and AC do not operate. I guessed the only common thing to these would be the ignition switch. I "giggled" the switch and all started working. My question is, "Will changing the lock switch work or is the problem in the column?

The problem sounds like the switch, not the lock cylinder. They are often interchanged verbally, but are different parts. The switch is located behind the lock cylinder. Remove the trim covers around the end of the steering column, and should be on the left side.

My crysler town and country starts and off again because the security light did not go off

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS, TPMS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Airbag and srs light stay on , on my ml270

Only a compatible scanner is going to turn this off.Don't try to do it yourself, as with any air bag/srs (supplemental restraint system), these units contain what amounts to an explosive charge, and if not handled properly, by trained folks, they can very easily cause death, ansd a nasty one at that.As long as the system detects a snag, it will continue to turn that light back on, even if you do get it turned off. The system does a circuit check soon after the car is started, on this system, and the only way to turn off that light is to fix it. Could be as simple as a clockspring, so have it checked. This is one of the only things that I'm not really willing to give much info on, due to the potential for disaster. Sorry, it's just the old grease monkey looking out for your safety. If you get it diagnosed, and have any questions about what you have been told, or anything like that, please feel free to contact me. Good luck!

Abs and air bag light is on

The ABS stands for (Anti-Lock Brake System). The air bag light or SRS stands for (Supplemental Restraint System). The lights are staying on because there is a problem with both systems. They have nothing in common with each other. I suggest you have this looked at by a professional. Working on the SRS can be hazardous so leave that to a pro.

i got to admitt thats alot of things to go wrong at once. i am no expert here, but there is a chance you got a loose or broken ground somewhere. chk. battery cables make sure there clean and tight, and any other ground straps you can find. with todays computered cars and trucks grounds are a big thing and just one not making contact can make the whole system go haywire. GOOD LUCK.
