Thank you very much, you were right the connection not being good at the battery. The battery was new in March of this year and it turns out that they should have replaced the connections, too. There was a lot of corrosion which I did clean off and I was able to get a jump start so I could have it looked at. Thank you again! I was panicking that it was a much more serious problem.

Check and clean battery connections, check voltage at battery should be 12v checked with a meter. Make sure that other ends of battery cables are clean and secure as well. Most times these tests will get you started...If you need to go further, I can help you with those as well.

I have been having problems with my 1998 ford windstar 3.8L with rough idle and dying, i changed the mass air flow sensor, and air filter, ran gas treatment through it, and it hasn't helped, then yesterday...

I have a 98 Windstar and it would die when pulling up to a stop sign, slowing when coming to a stop or making a slow turn. According to Ford recall 98E03 EMISSIONS RECALL some vehicles may stall during deceleration when coming to a stop, during slow speed parking maneuvers and/or coasting thru slow sweeping turns. This may be caused by the Powertrain Contro lModule (PCM) calibration dropping the rpms too quickly during deceleration. This involves reprograming the PCM. The revised calibration will allow the engine rpms to drop slowly during low speed maneuvers to reduce the possibility of a stall. Call your local FORD dealership (have your VIN handy) and have them check to see if this recall has been performed on your vehicle.

What ford vehicles has the same transmission as the 1998 windstar

If you're asking because of the BA and AA code on a 98 3.8 transmission is supposed to be exclusive. It's not. The transmission from a 95-99 will work. The bell housing looks different, but all the bolts and wiring line up. Been there n done that many many times.

How do I remove the radio from a 1998 Windstar

If its the factory Ford Radio then you'll need a pair of these removal tools: http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID1/151/sfID2/175/productID/1111

Should be about 5bux or less from your local Wally World.

Very simple-
Put the tool in- 1-per side.
Push outward while pulling back.

Car won't start

Take your batterie cables off the battery and clean them really good. the best way to clean a battery cable is to go and buy a box of arm and hammer baking soda for the .50 cents and what you do is put a small amount of water on the cables and then dump the baking soda on them and slowly add more water. Baking soda is the only thing that nutralizes sulferic acid. and if you ever get battery acid on your self you can use the baking soda to nutralize it and stop the burning and the eating of the acid. but it sounds to me that you are not getting a good connection at the battery and also check to see if your cables are tight.
please rate me if you would and i hope this helps you out
thank you
