Replacement brake pads for 06 Lexus GS 300?

2006 Lexus GS 300 regarding brake pads. High performacemetallic pads are standard but a repair shop tells me their specs book indicates a ceramic replacement pad. Lexus dealer tells me ceramic pads would most likely wear down to the rotors quicker and cause some damage . Which replacement pads do you recommend for the 06 GS 300?Are ceramic pads a problem for this high performance auto?

    Ceramic brake pads have become
the braking industry’s buzzword these days with
everyone going for the ceramic brake pads. So why
    ceramic brake

    Ceramic brake pads are generally
quieter and lower dusting than most OEM pads and
organic based brake pads. Many ceramic formulations
offer extremely low dusting characteristics, preventing
dust from accumulating on your wheels.

    Since they were first used
on a few original equipment applications in 1985,
friction materials that contain ceramic formulations
have become recognized for their desirable blend
of traits. Instead of the semi-metallic pad’s steel
fibers, the ceramic braking pads make use of the
ceramic compounds and copper fibers. This allows
the ceramic pads to handle high brake temperatures
with less heat fade, provide faster recovery after
the stop, and generate less dust and wear on both
    the brake pads and rotors.

    Moreover, the ceramic compounds
    in the ceramic
    brake pads
make the braking much quieter. This
happens as the ceramic compounds help dampen noise
by generating a frequency that is beyond the human
    hearing range.

pads meet or exceed all original equipment standards
for durability, stopping distance and noise. According
to durability tests, ceramic compounds extend brake
life compared to most other semi-metallic and organic
materials and outlast other premium pad materials
by a significant margin – with no sacrifice in noise
    control, pad life or
    braking performance

Go with standard pads.they wear a little faster than ceramics.but they dont wear down brake rotors.ceramics pads are hard and they cause brakes to squeak.also your car is under warranty with lexus dealership.i would use what they said. because you have future brake problem. they will void out warranty for not using their brakes.

I have a1994 Lexus gs 300. My quarter panel was hit and now my. Rear wheel is wearing out on the inside. What happened?

Well, if you were in an accident on the rear quarter panel, I might think that the wheel could have gotten hit as well causing it to be out of alignment. If your vehicle was repaired after the accident, I would return it to the shop and let them know that you are having issues with the tire wear and see if they can submit a supplemental to the insurance company to cover any part replacement, labor, and tire replacement. If your vehicle was not repaired after the accident I think I would take it to an alignment shop before the tire is completely worn out.
