Question about 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Disc stuck in factory installed DVD player

I have the same problem with my 2005 Chrysler Town and Country, factory installed DVD player. A disc is stuck in the multi-changer and I cannot add or remove any of the disc in the machine. My car battery died shortly before I noticed that the disc was stuck in the player. Is this a similarity for anyone else having the same problem? I have an 05 Chrysler T&C - The disk changer has six disks in it, but will not eject any of them. I need to get the disks out as they are from the library and I need to return them. How can I get them out?

Needs a new disc changer. Something is wrong internally. You will be able to get them back if you go to the dealership and get an exchange unit. They will send the discs back when they remanufacture the unit.

The best reply for this is to see a radio teck that fits wireless into cars as they have the gear , looms and connections and the know how to do the job without upsetting the ECM program. IT will be money well spent especially if you use an accredited radio technician.

Dvd stuck in mt 2007 chrysler town and country how do i get them out

It most probably was loaded into the DVD incorrectly. It will require the removal of the drive - not a hard job. It will suprise you in that the disc will actually be above the drive (just resting on top) not in it. The disc was angled up when it was put in. Be sure in the future to place it in straight and level.

Six disc dvd player problem

First remove the drink tray by pulling out and push down on lever in back. Then remove strip below dvd player. (this will pop off). There is 2 mounting screws behind it.Remove those. Then put a thin blade on side of silver trim. Gently pry and trim will pop off. there is 2 mounting screws behind trim for dvd player. Remove those and slide out dvd player and remove wiring harness. This is for 2005 town and country van. Now if I could only fix my dvd player. Good luck.

DVDs stuck in factory-installed 6-disc DVD movie player

Disclaimer: I am not a professional. This is an account of what I did to replace my DVD changer. If I had been offered the $450 installed option, I would have taken it.

According to the boys at Car Toys and the dealer, once these DVD changers go, they have to be replaced. The dealer quoted me $705, but I found one on E-bay from a highly rated seller for $400. I was able to pull out the DVD changer by popping off the trim betwee the DVD player and the cup holder, and then removing two screws. Note that it may help to remove the cup holder.

Once those two screws at the bottom are removed, it just takes a firm tug on console shell below the DVD player for the whole face of the console to come off. Disconnecting the airbag indicator connector will allow the console face to be pulled far enough away to get at the DVD changer. All connectors have a tab you need to press while pulling.

Two more screws need to be removed to get the DVD changer out. With those screws removed, another firm tug and wiggle will release the DVD changer. You'll probably hear a metal popping sound, which is just the rear grounding tab (I think that's what it is) pulling free from the cage.

Once you can reach the two wiring harnesses behind the DVD changer, pull on the wire bundle to give yourself some slack to work with, while not stressing the cable assemblies too much. Disconect the two connectors at the back of the DVD changer. At that point the DVD changer can be removed, and you can search on E-bay for the part number. My unit had a complete wiring diagram for the two connectors on the sticker, but I couldn't find anyone with the right connectors to install an aftermarket system.

I haven't received the new part yet, so I'm a little nervous about the correct order of connector installation. I'll probably pull the battery terminals while installing the new unit, but here is where you are on your own. Good luck.
