Question about 2001 Chevrolet Silverado
DOES IT HAVE A LOT OF MILES ON IT OR MAY BE THE OIL PUMP IS IS GOING OUT? THERE IS A SPRING IN THE PUMP THAT IS A BYPASS FOR HOW HIGH PSI IT MAY HAVE BROKE THAT WILL GIVE YOU LOW PSI.
you might have a collapsed lifter or a bent pushrod. if your engine has substantial miles on it you might just need your valves adjusted. a loose rocker arm will tick pretty loud. i would probably pull off the valve covers and pull the push rods make sure they arent bent and then re-adjust the rockers. something for the shadetree mechanic but if you only know how to put gas in and change the oil id take it to the pros.
Thanks for contacting Fixya.
