Question about 2002 Lincoln Continental
2002 Linc Cont, message says driver door ajar but it is shut tight, because I have slammed all of them a few times
This problem is caused by a small switch inside the door that is attached to the door latch mechanism, it is called a door ajar/coutresy light switch, there are one of these for each door, the dealer can run a test that will id the bad switch very quickly, the output from these switches goes through a control called a lighting control module (LCM), it has the ability to test itself.
