Garging the ac unit

the low side on this year is on the larger lines of the two sizes,it will be the 1/4 in service port, the larger of the two ports the small service port is on the small line ,it is the high side ,,but that is for r12 system which it came out with,if it has been retofitted to 134a freon use it will have a different kind of service port the large line will have the smaller of the two ports it is the low side ,looks like a quick connect,,,,if it hasnt been changed over ,go to parts store and ask for service port retrofit for 134s low side ,if u do not have gauges dont get the high side service port,,,if so ask for 3/16 size high side retofit .

High side schrader valve leaking

its possible but if you install a good service cap with known good o-ring inside...this might take care of it...for your info ,that cap is the primary seal of the port and open schraders can leak on a good day ...in order to replace that schrader ...a/c must be discharged..evacuated and recharged after replacement...put a good cap on it and save the big fix

The Freon goes into the "suction" hose/pipe assembly. There will be a service port on this hose. The low side (blue) hose of the manifold gauge set gets connected to this fitting. The suction hose can be identified by it's larger diameter (compared to the discharge and liquid hoses). The suction hose will run from the compressor across the top of the radiator (slightly behind the radiator), then back towards the firewall on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. The service port is generally closer to the firewall, than to the compressor.
