Consider trying with another battery. Possibly the battery is dying bcos the alternator is not charging up to rating.

Cheers.

When I turn the ignition key my camry solara 1999 erratically does not start. I have to start again and again until the starter motor get engaged. I had the started changed and the problem is not fixed...

Your starter has a relay that you may want to check. However, I think the problem is actually in your ignition switch itself. The ignition switch supplies the power to your starter and if that switch is going bad it will not send power to your starter. I hope this solves your problem or at least gives you a place to start looking. Best wishes.

My van will not turn over,i thought it was the starter cause it wasnt starting it will turn over but not start.so i put a new battery in it cause i was told the old one wasnt kicking out enough amps.and it...

If the starter motor spins and does not engage, thump the case of the starter motor with a piece of 4 x 2 or a lump hammer handle. If that fixes it, the fix will be temporary. Take the motor off and lubricate the bearings, paying attention to the dog wheel slider.

My car wont start. when you turn the key it does nothing. i think its the starter its not that battery so how to fix it?

When trying to start the car, have someone tap on the starter lightly with a hammer,a lot of the tomes they wll turn the engine over,if so,the starter is bad,if not, remove the starter and have it checked,or check the small wire going to the starter solenoid on the starter when turning key to start the engine,it should read close to 12 volts,if it does not ,check the neutral safety switch, and then the ignition switch. If this was helpful, please rate, thank you.

How to replace a starter on a toyota solara v6

You take out the battery, and the air-filter housing to give extra working space.
Then push in the starter motor to its place, and hand-tighten all its bolts.
Wrench tighten the starter bolts to the engine 38.ft-lb
Connect the solenoid wire, and tighten to 10.ft-lb
Connect the battery positive cable, and tighten to13.ft-lb.
Replace the air-filter housing.
Replace the battery, and terminals.
Crank-up the car.

When turning key on to start, the ignition just ''clicks''. Lights and radio come on but no turning over of engine. Eventually starts and runs fine when started.

you need to replace the solenoid contacts. any alternator/ starter repair shop can do that for you. if you cant find a shop to repair it, you will need to replace the starter. Its a LOT cheaper to take it out and have a starter repair shop replace the contacts. This is a REAL COMMON PROBLEM, but finding a shop to replace just the contacts may be tough (theres not a lot of money in it) This will fix your car. period.

1999 Toyota Solara Starter or Ignition Switch problem?

Your problem is a faulty starter solenoid relay.
It is staying in the POWER ON position.
The relay is located under the hood near the power distribution panel (fusebox) i believe.
Consult your owners manual or Repair manual for exact location.
