Question about 2000 Hyundai Elantra

1 Answer

2000 Hyundai Elantra starts only sometimes.

Mechanic 0204 gave a possible solution to my problem with my 2000 Hyundai Elantra sporadically dying, to use fuel system cleaner. I will try that over the weekend. I have found a description as to where the fuel filter is [in-line on the fire-wall, under the master cylinder], but don't necessarily know where the fuel pump is. could you please give me that information so if the system cleaner does not work and I have to tear into it this weekend I will have some idea what I am doing.

Here is a view of where the fuel pump is located (in the gas tank) and what all the components look like. Good luck.

2000 hyundai elantra wipers not working

Try to remember when it stopped working. Was it due to heavy snow on the windshield? Did it start making noise before dying? This can pinpoint the answer to your question. Usually it is 2 possibilities, fuse is blown or the motor is burnt. Try the fuse first. Good luck!

2000 Elantra when idling wants to die.

difficult to say here ,sounds like a sensor but what one is the thing, this could be anything from low fuel pressure to a loose inlet manifold so for this i would suggest that you ask a local mechanic to have a look .Yes i know its frustrating not to be able to do it yourself but this is a alectronic problem associated with the fuel system and without any knowledge or the correct dealer software you up the proverbial creek without a paddle here

My 2004 hyundai elantra just started dying out of no where sometimes it runs just fine sometimes it just jerks like its going to die and sometimes it actually dies not sure whats goin on???

My friend had this problem with her Hyundai 2003 Sante Fe...just dying out. And I did some research for her. There was one particular forum, where I Googled the make and model, year of the vehicle that came up where a few people had this problem. And the problem isn't picked up by the dearler's computer test. The part was the EGR solenoid control valve. Maybe that's a place to start?

its the cam shaft or drive shaft sensor. since your probably trying to restart it over and over again you are resetting the computer so you get no codes. have a 2000 and it did the same thing tell i gave up trying to start it and took it towed it to my house and had it tested.

2000 Hyundia Elantra Windshield wipers stuck in up position. Is it a Fuse or the Motor?

Turn on key & wipers--try to move wiper arms--not real hard--may break something--sometimes wipers will start moving.Next--have motor tested--then check for fuse, fusible link, or circuit breaker--depends on make of car. If fuse--replace--if other take to qualified mechanic.

Check your motor mounts they can be needing replacement these hold your engine in place if they are loose your car will or can ****.
Easy fix but I would suggest a mechanic it's not to expensive.

2000 Hyundai elantra transmission delay, reverse going

Did you check the transmission fluid level? If necessary, add fluid. However you probably have a more serious problem. Take the car to a qualified transmission mechanic.

2000 Hyundai Elantra Transmission problem

I don't know if I can help but as an owner of a Hyundai Elantra 2000 GLS with 205,000 miles and the original clutch and transmission I'll try and help!

I always start with the lowest cost solution first and avoid mechanics as much as possible!

Have you checked the trans fluid?
It should be changed every 30,000 miles!
Sometimes a Lucas Trans Fluid will cure - fix slippage!

Have you checked for a clutch adjustmet!
An adjustment can cure - fix slippage!

Are you a clutch rider with your foot always on the clutch?
If so you may have worn out the clutch!

How many miles to you have on your Hyundai Elantra 2000?
