Question about 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora

Motor mount msy need to be replaced and I just paid someone to do it a year ago--I need diagrams to troubleshoot/investigate

I paid someone a year ago to replace the motor mount on a 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora but it doesnt seem to be new. I need to know the exact location and of it and what it looks like bad vs good

    ok- got the motor mount information I needed. New question--tips on solving an A/C problem thats electrical? Compressor wont turn on but isn't locked up. All fuses and relays are good, valve stem has been replaced, refrigerant is full and charged.

How do you know if it "doesn't seem to be new" if you don't know where it is? Why was it replaced in the first place? There are usually three of them, one or two on one end and two or one on the other end of the engine. You must jack up the front end of the car so that you can find the mounts (use jack stands under both sides to keep from getting crushed if the jack slips). Mounts are usually two metal plates with a rubber biscuit between--one side bolted to the engine and the other side to the frame. If the biscuit has come free from either plate--replace that mount. Bad rubber is usually swollen or torn badly. If oily, clean with rag. There is usually an upper brace on top of the engine that can become damaged if one of the lower mounts is damaged or missing bolts. Good luck with this.

    Sounds like the compressor clutch electrical winding may open. Remove the electrical connection at the compressor and ohmmeter check the clutch side contacts--should read some low value--infinity means open winding. If ok, then probable control problem from computer. Should show error message on dash.

I did this a long time ago. I remember hat the mounts were the same. Going from a v6 to v8, they stayed the same. Going to a straight six, the mounts had to be flipped over. They kept the mounts the same for years. They changed the mounting hole on the block to fit the mount.

I was told by a local car shop that in order to fix the High Mount Brake Lamp (brake light is out) that I would need to replace the entire unit. One year ago it cost me $172.03 to replace the entire unit....

check to see if you got two screws if you do all you need is the light bulb if you still have the old one look at it and see if the bulb can be replace without breaking anything i no you mention a year ago

Hi Kris, The vibration could be from a number of places, more so as the engine has been replaced. I suggest you check the exhaust mountings, the exhaust covers, and exhaust mounts. Regards John

Replaced front engine mount on Nissan Quest 3 times in the last year. Any idea what is causing mounts to go bad? Don't tell me it's how I drive.

Nissan quest has a huge proble. I searched with google and many others to fidn this same problem. The over drive can cause the torque to slowly break the cheap motor mounts. If you replaced it yourself you know how cheap and weak they look. There are mroe expensive brands with lifetime warranties in which they last a good 4-5 years even with a lead foot aka my wife slamming on the gas everywhere lol. So look to a more expensive motor mount with a lifetime warranty. When someoen guarantees it for life they build it not to break :) sorry for spelling errors im on a tablet. Im havign a bundle of trouble with my quest, the vcr built in stopped working, blower motor went out replace fsu and blower switch in dash and next up is blower motor. Have fun nissan quest are great vahicles, cheap parts but a hell of a time diagnosing the problem. Good thing is its about 50 bux for a life time warranty front motor mount. A way to help stabilize it i did when racing is put a heavy duty chain around the bracket as well, wont hurt a thing and will save the life of your motor mount. Sounds rigged but works like a charm. I had to change a motor mount on my mustang form racing 1 time a month untill I put the chain on there with the new one.

Passenger side motor mount was replaced 2 monthe ago and is rubbing against holding bracket I need a diagram or picture of installation maybe forgot a washer or installed wrong 2000 honda accord v6

Jack the engine up o relieve pressure on the mount, take the mount back off. there should be no washers under the mount. look at the bolts that the mount slides down on, be sure to get those center as possible in the holes. you may have to raise or lower the engine a bit more to center those up. Put the mount back on and tighten the bolts while the engine is raised. lower the car and tighten to spec.

Diagram for 1998 buick lasabre serpentine belt

I found the diagram in my owner's manual.
I replaced the belt on mine just 2 days ago. All you need to do is remove one bolt from the lower motor mount and remove the spacer. After you relieve the belt tensioner, the belt will slip right through the gap. Don't forget to support the engine before removing the bolt. As a backup I took a photo of the belt with my digital camera beforehand... just in case.

Can not get the serpentine belt around the motor mount

You need to remove the mount, no other way to get the belt on, Labor time is over 1 hour for someone that has done them before.

Does the engine stall? if not the motor mount is the issue, it is allowing engine vibration to be sent along the frame to the driver, the mounts have 2 functions, the 1st is of course to hold the engine in place, the 2nd is to isolate the vibration from the driver, engines vibrate allot, but if all the mounts are good you seldom feel it.
