1997 Pontiac Grand Am OIL EVERYWHERE

I seem to always have to add oil, more than the usual I guess...and since I bought this car in 2002 it has been slowely holding on oil thats leaked out over time. Lately there is a big overspray on the soft hood pad attached to the underside of the hood and the engine is so caked with oil ...All Over! What am I looking at here???

Might be a front crank seal clean oil and then run and check for leaks

Make sure that the oil cap is on tight and has no damage like cracks. Usually if the oil cap is missing or not secured it will send oil everywhere.

To reset "CHANGE OIL" light, turn the ignition switch to the run position without starting the engine. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. and wait for the light to flash. Check your manual it maybe slightly different. Real easy fix.

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited which had a bad water pump and overheated, waterpump has been replaced but when engine starts to heat up engine has a ticking sound ? Any idea what this is ? No...

Ticking can come from so many places I could write all day... Use a screwdriver or a long extension as a stethoscope and try to isolate the source. Best guess I can make without seeing/hearing it is either you cracked an exhaust manifold or a valve lifter is sticking (only a guess) If it's a lifter, you can add a quart of marvel oil and usually it will quiet down.

My 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP has an oil leak located on the firewall side of the engine. It's a small leak (2-3 drops a day) but very messy on my concrete driveway. How can I fix it?

Try some motor honey. It can be bought at most part stores, advanced auto, autozone, ect. It worked for my 95 Grand Am when I had a leak in my oil pan gasket. Hope this helps
