I have already done it now. The engine was out as I was putting into a hilux so room wasn't an issue. In my situation where I had plenty of room it is not hard at all, I will say as a must though, with the engine being at TDC while you are replacing, once you have the new belt tensioner pulley idler bearing and water pump in before you hit the key put a breaker bar on the crank and give two full turns clockwise and all marks should line up again (without hearing and bad noises). The away you go.

This is a very complicated process (involves removing radiator, etc.) and should NOT be attempted by the amateur. Re-assembly is also tricky and could result in your timing being thrown off and a dead car.

Bite the bullet and get it done.

I have 2002 jeep grand Cherokee limited v8 I was changing the crank position sensor and it broke off can't get rest out any ideas to get it out

I can only give you suggestions since I don't see what you see. Since it broke off possibly you can grab what's left with a pair of needle nose pliers or needle nose vise grips. If this doesn't work try drilling a hole thru the center of what's left. Do this very gently since you don't want the piece to fall thru the other way. You may be able to put a piece of wire thru this hole that you would make a hook on the end ( clothes hanger wire ) , and use the hook to grab from behind, and pull out. Now the worst scenario would be the piece falling in the other way, if this happens most likely it will fall into the oil pan and eventually wash down into the oil pan. If the piece is at the flywheel end of engine it will fall to the bottom of bell housing. You will have to accept what happens, unless you want to drop oil pan or part engine and trans to pull out piece. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

How to Fix the window cables on a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville

This happened to all four of my windows in my 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. The cables come loose and the windows fall down. The problem is an inadequately weak plastic piece linking the cables. The cables come from the motor, one goes up and one goes down, they both go around their respective pulleys, and then connect to a plastic guide on the window track. The cable ends weave into the plastic piece and have a larger metal piece on the end to prevent the cable from slipping out. Over time, this plastic will wear out and break, allowing the cable to slip out and the window to fall down. New assemblies cost 150 to 200 dollars each, therefore, I fixed the problem myself. I removed the assembly rerouted the cables and affixed the cable back to the plastic piece by using pliers and coat hangar wire around cable behind the larger metal piece, and looping other end through center hole in plastic piece. Make sure, however, to allow plenty of room for the window glass, mechanical parts, etc, so that the new wire does not interfere with normal operation. Reinstall the assembly and test the window excessively. You may need to adjust the bend of the wire and/or placement to insure correct performance. It is a fairly simple process, can be time consuming, but could possibly save $1000 over 4 windows. It has now been over a year since reconnecting the cables in my Bonneville, and I have had no problems.
Take careful notice of how you take apart the doors to insure proper re-installation. Taking pictures with your cell phone can help you remember steps in reverse. Good luck and save some money!

How to remove idler pulley on 03 saturn vue V6

If you go to Saturn .com you will be able to locate a link with a parts diagram. This will show you the bolt that holds the idler pulley in place. You first have to put a socket and breaker bar on the pulley to remove the tension, then remove belt from tensioner pulley. Try to keep it from falling off other pulleys. There will be a belt routing diagram under the hood on the front to the left or right of the hood latch. Try using a piece of twine or wire to hold belt in place while changing idler pulley. Then remove idler pulley pivot(mounting bolt). Hope this helps, please post solved on So I get credit for a solved problem if it does. If not, check back and give me more info.

What is the correct procedure for installing the crankshaft position sensor on a 2000 jeep grand cherokee. With a in line six cylinder engine

The new sensor may come with a piece of cardboard on the end, if not, glue a piece of paper match stick across the end of it. Mount the sensor so that it just touches and tighten it up. The match or cardboard will eventually fall off...or not, but it will not effect operation of the sensor and the distance will be correct.

2000 Infinity I30 Touring...

You would probably fall into the Euro 3 category based off a few principles.
1. Year
2. Weight
3. Emissions (most important)

If you have an e-check site in your state you should be able to see the emissions from them and figure which category you fall into. Until you test the actual car there in no definitive way to tell.
Only because a car made in 2000 may pass the Euro (3) 2000 standars and also be suited to pass the 2005 Euro 4 standard. its hard to say until the car is tested. it may not even pass the euro 3 standard of 2000 even though it was new in 2000 due to the fact it was a US made car for the US and not Europe.
Good luck, and hope this helps
