Do you check the hydraulic fluid level, on my 1997 Sl 500, with the top up or down?

Top needs to be up when top is down the Pistons extend with fluid showing it is low and if you fill at that time when you close it the Pistons will go back in and fluid will run out and possible cause of a leak

Air in brake lines

Make sure the cap is on when you go to bleed. When you press the pedal down hold it to the floor and have an assistant pour fluid in reservoir then put cap back on before letting up on pedal repeat as necessary. If not working still you have a bad master cylinder

Just catching your post. On my C220 that the windshield fluid tank is on the front right of the engine compartment. There is an level probe on top that sticks into the reservoir. I recently noticed that the wires and connections were corroded to the point of disintegration. I suspect you may have the same problem and need to replace the connection to the electric posts on the reservoir sensor.

Location of the brake fluid input

the brake fluid resivoir is above the master cylinder on the firewall. so on the left side near the windshield. the power steering resivoir is closer to the front end and is distinguished by not being connected to the master cylinder..

WHERE IS THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CONTAINER LOCATED ON A 2002 C240. IF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE GEAR SHIFT WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK COULD IT BE TRANSMISSION FLUID NEEDED?

Tranmission fluid is inside the transmission with I "dip stick" to pull out and check the fluid level.

Did you step on the brake first?
A lot of cars make you step on brake before you can shift out of park for safety reasons.

Hi, I have just translated the German text you supplied.
I says the brake fluid is too low.
I recommend you check fluid reservoir level (In engine compartment)
If level is already at correct level, it may be due to a faulty level sensor at reservoir.
Hope this helps, MMP
