Look inside the brake booster for fluid.. pull the vacuum hose from it and check from there .. some times brake master cylinders leak and the as where the fluid will collect.. also if h have drum brakes in rear they too could hold fluid that may not show the leak

Im losing brake fluid in my resivor as fast as i put it in what could be the problem? its a 1999 kia sportage

well, if fluid is going down. then you have a leak. either in the brake lines or a bad wheel cylinder. if you can not see the leak. have someone push on brake while you look under the car. if the lines you will see it spray out. but if you do not see anything check for brake fluid on the inside of back wheels if it has drum brakes in the back, this means a brake cylinder is bad.

Unless you have a leak in the brake system the only reason your brake fluid level master cylinder would be empty is that your brake pads are worn out. As they wear the fluid level goes down. You need to check for a leak at all 4 wheels and the complete system. If you find no leak then inspect all brake pads and replace as necessary. I would also bleed the brakes as you let the fluid get very low. More than likely a new set of brake pads will solve your problem. The only thing that is suspicious is the clunk you heard. Make sure a trusted mechanic gives your brake system a good inspection. It can be very dangerous if your brakes fail.

first make sure there are no brake fluid leaks, sometimes the steel lines get rotted and start leaking. to test the booster with the engine off pump brake pedal about 10 - 12 times on the last pump hold the brake pedal down and start the car if the booster is good the pedal will drop alittle.

My brake pedal goes to the floor?(spongy brake pedal) i added brake fluid and still have the problem.Do i need to bleed the brakes and if so whats the easiest way?

hi yes you do, it sounds like you may have a leak though as peddles do not go soft for no reason, you need to check on the back of the rear drums to see if they are damp they will look wet this will mean you have a leaking wheel cylinder and will need to be replaced, also check the master cylinder where you fill the fluid up, see if there are any wet patches coming from that, if there is that will need replacing, to be honest it will be wasting your time if you bleed the brakes if you have a leak..but if you cant find a leak anywhere, the best way to bleed the brakes is start from the rear farthest from the master cylinder, get either a brake bleeding kit from local car parts store, or purchase a short piece of clear hose, one that will fit snug on the bleed nipple, also you will need a clear jar, place some fluid in the jar about 1/2 way and make sure the hose goes to the bottom of the jar, get someone to help you to press the brake peddle, ask them to pump the peddle fast say 5 times, then hold the peddle down, you then undo the nipple on the wheel and let the fluid out of the rear wheel cylinder into the jar, you should see bubbles come out ( hence clear hose ), this will be the air being ejected out, then do the nipple up ( this should be done quickly, to stop the air rising back into the wheel cylinder ) repeat until you see no air bubbles coming out, be sure to keep topping up the master cylinder, once that wheel has been bled, then go to the next farthest wheel, and so on till all the air has been expelled, for reference, do not re-use the expelled fluid as this will have small air bubbles in if you re-use it to top up the fluid, your just putting air back in also this will be contaminated with old fluid, so word to wise, make sure you have plenty of fluid to do this...hope this helps please rate and vote thanks, any more help just post..thanks

Soft brake peddle on 1994 chevy 3/4ton truck is it the back adjuster?

You might have a leak in one of your brake lines i would look at all of the lines for a leak look at the brake drums for fluid driping out of the bottom if you dont find a leak it may be time for a brake job . a soft peddel means you have air in your system. From a leak or wore out pads or shoes or a leaking wheel cylender from wore out rear shoes . watch your master cylender to see if its low on fluid.

Put in brake fluid but cannot tell if there is a leak or not

After you put the fluid in the brakes start your blazer keep it in park or in nutral with the parking brake on and then push as hard as you can on the brake peddle using the steering wheel as leverage. This should pop any brake line that is leaking a little bit but not enough to pop any good lines. If the peddle slowly goes to the floor check undernieth the vehicle for any signs of leaking. If no signs of leaking look under the hood where the brake master cylinder is and check for any leaking around the mounting surface. If no leaks there check inside the vehicle where the brake peddle goes threw to the master cylinder for leaks on the inside, this does happen from time to time.

Hi
If you cant find the leak then ost likely it will be the master cylinder, thats the part that holds the fluid check behind it as sometimes the fluid can run down and into the car meaning you dont see the leak out side, look for any dampend areas as this fliud evaporates quite quickly so again you may not see the leak.

Let me know if you have more info and I will see if I can help
