Hi there,

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, recording any radio codes first.
2. Carefully pry off the trim cover behind the inside door pull handle.
3. Remove the plug covering the screw at the bottom of the door pull pocket, then remove the screw.
4. Remove the speaker grille cover at the lower front corner of the window, if equipped, by gently squeezing in on the sides to disengage the lock tabs, then lifting it off. Remove five panel mounting screws: two along the bottom, two below the armrest, one each at the front edge and read edge, and one at the top-rear of the panel.
5. Insert a large screwdriver, small pry bar, or trim-clip tool between the door panel and the door and gently lift out to disengage the clips one at a time along the bottom and sides of the trim panel. Some model have push pins, instead of clips.
6. With the clips disengaged, swing the bottom of the door panel out and reach behind the panel to disconnect the electrical connectors for the power windows, locks, mirrors, and speakers.
7. Lift the panel straight up to remove it from the door.
8. For access to the inner door, carefully peel back the plastic watershield. To install, place the watershield in position and press it into place.
9. For power mirrors, disconnect the wiring harness connector and wiring guide clips.
10. Remove the three mirror mounting nuts and pull the mirror out to remove it.
11. To install, guide the wiring through opening and follow removal steps in reverse.
12. Before installation, install any push pins or clips that may have come out during removal in the door panel.
13. Plug in any electrical connectors and lower the top of the panel into position in the door; then, push the front edge straight in to engage the guide pins.
14. Press the door panel into place until all clips and push pins are seated. Install the retaining screw and cover plug. Replace panel screws.
15. Replace the speaker grille and snap the door release cover panel back into place.
16. Reconnect negative battery cable.

Please rate this solution.
Thanks
regards

Replacing the driver's side mirror of 2006 Ford F150.

Exterior Mirror Glass removal

1. Position exterior mirror glass in the full UP position.
2. Locate the notch at the bottom of the exterior mirror glass.
3. Release the mirror glass
Insert a long flat head screwdriver in the notch.
Push the screwdriver into the notch until the glass
is released.
Note: If equipped with heated mirrors disconnect the electrical connector from the exterior mirror glass.

Installation:

1. If equipped with heated mirrors, connect the electrical connector to the back of the mirror.
2. Position the exterior mirror glass onto the mirror motor.
3. Place one hand on the back of the exterior mirror housing and hand flat on the exterior mirror glass.
Press the mirror glass in place until fully seated.
You could place a towel between your hand and the mirror in case the mirror breaks while you are applying pressure.

To replace
the entire mirror, you will need to take off the door panel. Then you can unbolt the old mirror, unhook the electrical and go about reinstalling the new one.

Have a great day!

Replacing driver side mirror ford f 150 2006

If you are looking for directions for this, I find the Muth Signal mirror instructions to work the best. They have nice pictures and step by step to get the mirror head off the truck.

www.kwmuth.com

Enter make and model info to get to the product listing. On this page is a URL to the PDF version of the instructions.
Obviously follow the instructions to the point fo removing the glass from the mirror head ( if you have a new complete mirror head ).

Muth makes the signal mirrors for repalcing the glass in the mirror head. On the site, they have nice instructions you can use for removing the door panel, and getting the mirror off ( obviously stop at the removing the glass part, and just replace with the mirror head you already have ).

Enter the Make, MY, and model you have, and on the products page are the links to the PDF version of the instructions for download.
