Either the fan is not turning on, unlikely or the radiator is plugged with mud. Wash with garden hose. When ac selected and snowflake light comes on does it blink then go out or stay on? And when ac selected does cooling fan under hood come on? It should we it her or not the compressor kicks or not. But if gets hot with ac selected then compressor turns but lack of airflow to cool engine radiator and ac condensor. Now. Cataliac threw u a curve ball. It's one or two fans for cooling under food and they are sometimes two speed. If two wires to motor then single speed if three wires then dual speed. Suggest take garden hose and spray the hell out of it. And also this car is notorious for getting leaves and debris caught between radiator and condensor. Bad part is the upper radiator support is not removable. So remove plastic cover that stretches from fender to fender and remove both long winded upper radiator mount screws and lean top of radiator to words rear of car and with flashlight check to see how big the mice nest is between radiator And condenser. Clean.

Noise under hood - no a/c

Did you look under the hood or just hear it and not inspect for the source. Do not drive this until the noise source is found, if the AC compressor is frozen up it will burn the drive belt off.

I can hear something click on when I turn a/c

Is the sound coming from under the hood/bonnet? This is typically the normal sound of the A.C. compressor drive clutch assembly engaging or disengaging.

My 2004 jaguar x-type ac is not working. the temp gauge inside shows that the ac is on, but nothing is blowing out of the vents. Please advise

check freon level first. You should hear the compressor clutch kick on under the hood when you turn it on. Can you hear and see it come on and start spinning the compressor?

Hello .. i have a problem with my car '' sounds under the hood '' my car is a 2003 ford crown victoria i hear sounds under the hood , i notice these sounds as long as the car is running either...

open the hood listen to where the noise is comming from I suspect pullys shut off engine .Get a full can of wd40 spray one pully at a time start engine after spraying each pully when the noise quites down or goes away that will be the pully you will want to inspect further or replace before it leaves you stranded. I drive a 04 crown vic great car ps while your there check your serpintine belt. shouldnt be cracked or missing teeth. about 30 dollars at napa easy to replace.

Temp. light comes on when driving, seems to go off when I turn off the air conditioning

There are two possible sources for this; the auxiliary fan is not turning on with the AC and/or the compressor load on the belt (if shared with the water pump) is causing it to slip causing the water pump to lose revs. and water flow.
Have someone turn on the AC while you watch under the hood. You should hear a 'click' as the AC compressor clutch engages and the extra fan should turn on.

AC system, compressor not engaging.

Look at the front face of the compressor. Does the metal plate on the front of the pulley start and stop? If so, and you hear a lot of cycling (clicking on and off), you need to get your unit recharged. Good luck

Toyota Camry 2002. AC button is green but the air is not cold. What is the problem?

could be many things most likely a problem with a leak in the compressor lines or the compressor clutch not engaging, cluch could fail for many reasons, bad computer bad wiring, blown fuse mechanical failure... best bet would be to check all fuses first then go under hood and see if when the ac is on Max cool with engine running weather u can hear a clicking sound when system is on or when it is turned off.... let me know

Clicking sound under the hood of my trailblazzer

Is it the AC clutch? put the defrost on with engine running and open the hood. listen for the AC clutch switching on and off. this is normal. its basicly on the AC compressor.
