My 89 corolla works fine on flat roads it gives a slight buck or tremble when slighty steping on the gas pedal and also its weak in climbing hills and gives off a strange odor when doing so sometimes my pedal is floored going up a hil and the car creeps and takes a while before chipping into low gear , all of the above is even worse when my car has people in it
Have you ignition timing checked. It seems you have a retarted ignition timing.
