ABS Light and Parking brake light on

My ABS Light and parking brake lights are on. They still work and I think its the sensor that is broken. Where is that Sensor located in a 2000 chevy S-10 2.2 L LS I have the same exact problem. Find a solution yet? Seemingly at random my ABS and PB lights will come on, with that the speedo stops working and I have severe shifting problems. Either very late shifts or no shifts at all. Sometimes it will shift into second and like magic all the problems go away, Sometimes, itll finally shift after running at redline and all the warning lights go out but it still doesnt want to shift. The symptoms are always the same but in random order, and come and go very randomly

Sounds like your vehicle speed sensor is going out. it's the modern equivilent of a speedometer cable. it tells the computer how fast your going which the computer uses to determine shift points, abs function, and speedometer readings. they usually act up a bit before they go out. it confuses the computer. normally located in the extension housing at the rear of the transmission where the spedometer cable would be on an older vehicle

I've had the same problem when my 2000 S10 4x4 (Auto). The ABS wires were bad, it was reading that the tire was moving even though it was in park. New wires at a junk yard fixed my problem. The PB went away as soon as everything reset. The abs sensors always get dirty, it's a common problem I've heard with the trucks. Everytime you rotate a tire or do a brake job..wipe them off. Should prevent future problems.

They are in a closed loop the ABS and the balance pressure switch. You likely have some kind of problem with ABS system .If one dosn't work it will effect the other light

Abs light stays on

if the abs light is on then you have a code in the system that needs to be checked and repaired. it could be a bad wheel sensor, poor connection, broken wire, dirt clogging the sensor gap.

ABS/Parking Brake?Service Engine Lights are on But Runs Great

Does ABS work properly? Get on dirt road and try to lock brakes (do this carefully insuring no police car tailgating, lol) Could be bad wheel speed sensor. Check codes with scan tool capable of reading ABS and trans codes.

My 1995 honda preludes emergency brake doenst work, when you pull it up it comes up easy and the break light does come on, also my ABS light is on and wont turn off

The parking brake problem could be rear brakes out of adjustment, a broken parking brake cable, or a parking brake cable in need of adjustment.

The ABS light mosy likely has nothing to do with your parking brake problem and will have to be diagnosed by first gathering the ABS fault codes from the ABS computer.

ABS and traction control really are only for panic stops and if your tires slip on wet surface's and yes each tire has a sensor on it. However if the brake light comes on this has nothing to do with the ABS or traction control lights. It's not a parking brake light. This light tells you, you have a serious brake problem.

ABS Light and Parking brake light on

check your fuses, then check the ABS valve located beside the master cylinder and the wiring to it and finally check your speed sensor, which is located on the transmission on a 2 wheel drive and on the transfer case on a 4 wheel drive. but make sure hat your E-brake is released as it will cause these lites to come on.
